http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=sony_bullsh!t <-replace that exclamation mark with an "i".

Those of you who visit the site regularily have probably already seen this, and to you I apologize... but I thought it was still worth bringing up. Any written work that slams Sony deserves attention.

I think he absolutely nailed that one. Sony all around -- not just SCE -- is a poisonous company. With such a blatant disregard for what their customers want, it's amazing people still buy their sh!t o-O

Well, not to make this a flame war, but if you look close enough and use some common sense, you realize that Maddox is just a fake. I'll put it thisway, you can be anything you want on the internet, you can even fake that in the public eye. :p

What kind of amazing-hardcore-love-pirate-arse-kicking-cool-know-it-all-and-I'm better-and-very-egotistical know how to make .gifs? Just cross out hardcore, amazing, arse kicking, cool, know it all, and better than and you have Maddox.
(loves-pirates-very-egotistical.)

Anyway, great .gif is all I can give him. :p

Actually I was talking about Gold:

He's right though, meanwhile I am haunted by flashbacks:

Gamers don't want online games.

...because online games aren't very popular among Japanese kids.

Haha I couldn't have said it better, Hakey.
(Note: Satura Iwata = Nintendo's president)

Maddox, as crude as he may be, makes a few points I have to agree with -- especially the Lik-Sang part. Sony is pushing away some people, who otherwise might have gone with them, had they not been so arrogant or domineering.

Actually, Nintendo also closed down a couple of emulation sites... for providing NES roms!

Besides, the Wii was confirmed to be region locked, right?
Then probably selling Japanese Wiis to European people is considered illegal by Nintendo too.

Game companies are all evil, I tell you.

ROMs are illegal though (yes we all know it's a sketchy grey area, however unauthorised copying ftl it would seem), also I presume they wouldn't mind so much and would turn a blind eye if they weren't trying to profit of their old games on the Virtual Console I mean...if people can access them for free why should they give Nintendo any money? XD

Thing is the PSP isn't region locked though (well the UMD movies are I suppose) so while ^ could be true, I think a better comparison would be selling region-free Japanese DSs to Europe. They didn't shut down any sites for that (not that I'm aware of anyway). :approve:

They just want my money anyway, I personally think Nintendo relieve you of it in the nicest possible way. ;)

Good points, but that was way before the virtual console.
You can check out most big emulation sites, any file with the word Mario, Zelda, StarFox, etc on it can't be downloaded anymore.

I think this has been happening since 2002 if I recall correctly.
EDIT: But yeah, they were making money from their NES games back then with those straight Nes to Gba ports, etc.

Oh no doubt, I'm just wondering how long they'd been tossing aorund the idea of the downloadable system, not to mention Nintendo does seem to have an aptitude for re-releasing the same games over and over again (and so do you SEGA!).

Yeah but at £20 each I believe, if anything that would just drive people to d/l more ROMs out of spite. ^_^
