View Full Version : Random Trivia 2

=donkey-banjo=
13th December 2006, 11:50 PM
Well, the moment some of us members have been waiting for: It's RANDOM TRIVIA 2!!!

The same as the last one. The rules are:

*I will ask 15 questions. The person who answers the most correctly will be the winner(hint: there IS a reward).

*I will occasionally give hints when a continual amount of people answer incorrectly.

*Please abide by my score. If you believe there is something wrong with it, let me know, I guarantee you, I will start at the beginning here and recount.

*First person to give a correct answer earns the point

*I will simply decide when to give the answer

New rule:

*Sometimes, no one will get it right. Or if there are only two answers. If it takes forever to answer, and no one gets it, I will just give the answer and move on. There will be NO extra questions. Also, if its a two-choice question, and the very first answer to it is wrong, I will give no points to anyone who puts the other one. Too obvious.

Assuming that's the base of it, let's get started. I will keep score through-out the game in bold face. It will be easy to see.

Question 1: Which italicized word is the verb?

"The boy and his friend Ted decided that they were going to Kroger's tomorrow."

P.o.t.O
13th December 2006, 11:56 PM

14th December 2006, 12:03 AM
Just checking here, but what is the prize? If it is reputation, then you should not being doing that. It would be considered abuse. Thank you.

=donkey-banjo=
14th December 2006, 12:07 AM
Correct Poto!!!

P.o.t.O ... 1pt

All right! Next question!

Question 2: What do you do to get a Steelix? (Explain in detail kindof:p)

jarrett155
14th December 2006, 12:12 AM
You have to trade an onyx to someone while it is holding steel coat if i remember.

=donkey-banjo=
14th December 2006, 12:16 AM
Well, close. Steel is not the proper word for the item it must be weilding.

P.o.t.O
14th December 2006, 12:19 AM
If memory serves right, the right item is a "Metal Coat". You have it hold a Metal Coat, then trade 'im.

Btw, how does an onyx hold a coat? He's got no freakin' hands! :p

=donkey-banjo=
14th December 2006, 01:01 AM
Correct again!

P.o.t.O ... 2pts

Question 3: What is the common item found in the most common tree you would find in Florida?

P.o.t.O
14th December 2006, 01:05 AM
Seeing as there's four of these trees in my backyard, I'm gonna go with Orange.

Mr.Patch
14th December 2006, 01:15 AM
I would say leaves or birds.

jarrett155
14th December 2006, 01:17 AM
i would have to say wood.

what if its winter

Theguyoverthere
14th December 2006, 01:33 AM
i would have to say wood.

Nice. Technically you are right, as there is more wood than oranges, especially in the Winter ;)

Yes, it's obviously oranges. Keyword: Florida.

=donkey-banjo=
14th December 2006, 10:19 PM
Oops. I didn't think of oranges. I was thinking coconuts:p

Let's skip this question, and make a new question 3.

Question 3: What is the capital of Alaska? (Spelling counts:p)

jarrett155
14th December 2006, 10:29 PM
Juneau.

Shouldnt i have gotten the last question i mean think about it no matter what tree you are thinking of there is always gonna be wood.

Oops. I didn't think of oranges. I was thinking coconuts:p

Let's skip this question, and make a new question 3.

Question 3: What is the capital of Alaska? (Spelling counts:p)

(I really haven't seen coconuts locally. It's not exactly common. ;) )

jarrett155
14th December 2006, 10:42 PM
you are off count on questions. the capitol one should have been 4

=donkey-banjo=
15th December 2006, 12:19 AM
(I really haven't seen coconuts locally. It's not exactly common. ;) )

That's just always what I thought of when I thought of trees in Florida. I live in Ohio:)

Good job jarrett155!! Point for you!!

P.o.t.O ... 2pts

jarrett155 ... 1pt

Question 4: If you have 4 + 10 -155 +341 divided by 50 x 7 + 2 divided by 3 = x

P.o.t.O
15th December 2006, 01:25 AM
I think...at the moment, we're talking around -139.36 rounded to the nearest hundredth.

PEMDAS, btw. Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, and Subtraction.

(Edit: Thank you. Slip of the finger. :p)

=donkey-banjo=
15th December 2006, 01:37 AM
No...no no no no no, no PEMDAS. I know what it means. Sorry, I should have been more specific. Just do it in the order I typed it. Not Algabraic order.

EDIT: (P.o.t.O, not PEDMAS, PEMDAS lol)

P.o.t.O
15th December 2006, 01:40 AM
Oh, in that case, I'll say -92.593333333333333...

=donkey-banjo=
15th December 2006, 01:43 AM
Lol you are WAY off. It comes out even. Try a calculator;)

P.o.t.O
15th December 2006, 01:47 AM
Oh, I got it now. It's 10!

x = 10 + 4 = 14
x = 14 - 155 = -141
x = -141 + 341 = 200
x = 200/50 = 4
x = 4(7) = 28
x = 28 + 2 = 30
x = 30/3 = 10
x = 10

=donkey-banjo=
15th December 2006, 07:16 PM

Bonus Question 1: [Listening Question]

Okay. Follow the instructions. Afterward, you put all these weird words in one sentence and you may get the point.

First: Type in "lnkto te pst" in a google search (no quotes).

Type a "1" and a space in your answer here, and copy and paste the thing google says it could be. Meaning, if you type something wrong in, it'll say Did you Mean ... so and so. copy and paste the Did You mean thing that pops up.

Next, type in "Bulbasaur" in a google search. Go to the third website you see. Go to disadvantages, and type in a "2" for your answer here, space, then copy and paste the fourth disadvantage that Bulbasaur has.

Lastly, type in "Christmas Poem" in a google search. Go to the first website that pops up. Type a "3" for your answer here, space, then copy and paste the fourth poem down. (Click on the poem first, then copy and paste it.

If you followed directions correctly, you will get a 3 point bonus for this. If you don't get it after a while, I'll just give the answer, and we'll move back to the regular questions.

Springer2006

1: Link To The Past
2: Bug
3: Can anyone explain the glow of Christmas?
Holidays are candles in the night.
Rebirth comes from family and friends
In one bright blur of food and talk that ends
Still burning as a peaceful inner light.
There is no way to substitute for Christmas.
Miss it and no circumstance feels right.
All my heart's with you, yet I must miss this
Season thick with love and rich delight.

Is that right?

=donkey-banjo=
16th December 2006, 12:40 AM

and

2) By what kind of people (examples: Spanish ppl, etc.)

(No, Spanish is NOT the answer:p)

If you tell me when, I'll give you an extra point.

Soulreaper41392
20th December 2006, 09:35 PM
Electric light, from a filament in a lightbulb. If that's what you mean...

=donkey-banjo=
20th December 2006, 09:39 PM
No. I will give an example: Neon is a type of light. Solar is light that comes from the sun (and don't put LUNAR because that's just solar bouncing off the moon lol;).)

So...the type of light that a flashlight uses is...inc _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _.

jarrett155
20th December 2006, 09:44 PM

=donkey-banjo=
23rd December 2006, 03:22 AM
Sorry. I didn't check it as often. I will try to.

Anyway, no, I don't think those are what I was looking for. Here's a hint:

If you have "hint", the first part would be "hihn" because of the "ih" right before the n. So hint would be <hihnt>.

jarrett155
23rd December 2006, 03:25 AM
I left for the day and I missed a question.:(

PS:Thanks for the advice.
