View Full Version : "Identity" text game (we can all play)

Hello there, dearest RWP buddies. Since I'm bored something awful and I don't have anything of particular interest to do right now, I thought I'd introduce you all to a fun game I used to play with my friends and family during long road trips a long while ago. It's called Identity (completely unrelated to that new game show on TV) and here's how you play: first, you think of a fictional character from movies, television, literature, video games, or any other source you can think of. However, the character must be relatively well-known; in other words, the Terminator's twenty-first victim does not qualify. Then, you give two specific clues about your character's identity: their gender, and what type of media (movies, games, all that stuff) they come from...

After that, everyone who is playing can ask a series of yes/no questions (they can be as vague or specific as you like, but strictly yes/no) to determine the character's identity. So my game suits a web forum, everyone who posts questions can only ask three questions per reply. Basically, the first person to figure it out is the winner, and they can come up with the next character to continue the game. Simple, huh? Taking a hint from "who's that pokemon?" I'll add that if the winner doesn't reply within twenty-four hours, the game is anyone's to take. :D

All righty, then! Since I'm first, let us begin:

1. my character is male.
2. he is from a Hollywood film.

Good luck!

Does the person in question like to spit onion juice while standing upside down on the cieling?

On a more serious note, is his last name Carry?

To answer all of your questions... no. Remember, I'm talking about a character, not the actor himself!

I think I'll give you another clue... he appears in more than one film. But no more freebies!

Jeez, you guys are repeating questions! The answers to every question asked before my second post in this thread (I mean, after the very first one) is no. Now, to get to the new ones...

(lamentofking)

1. no
2. no

I'd already said he wasn't a cartoon character...

(BKSonic1234)

1. no
2. yes, but not Austin Powers...

(Theguyoverthere)

1. no
2. absolutely

Here's another clue, because you need one really badly... in the movie, he is 17 years old.

Keep trying!;)

1. Is the answer Daniel Radcliffe also known as Harry Potter?

I haven't watched many movies so I am guessing on all of these.

In my timezone, I think it's been 24 hours since his last post. If that's true, I'm claiming this quiz to myself.

If not........

1. Is the movie he is in unrealistic?
2. Was the movie he was in based off of a book.

Mandolin
6th January 2007, 08:28 PM
Okay, you guys are getting better. Repobanjo asked where I had said he wasn't an animated character... perhaps I was a bit vague about it, but I said that every question asked before my second post was no. I'm sorry if that threw you off. As for the 24-hour rule, I only meant that if the winner of the game doesn't start his own quiz in a day, it's anyone's... of course, you all can always give up! Now, the new questions:

banjo-eighty, Andre, BKsonic1234, and lamentofking: no!

repobanjo:
1. yes
2. no

I guess it might be too hard if I don't give out clues now and again, so...

-his initials are "MM"
-he is one of two main characters.
-together, they've appeared in three movies.

Come on, it's a real no-brainer now!

I knew the answer for a while, but I didn't want to break Cavern Rules by posting without waiting for someone else to post.

Is it Marty McFly of the Back to the Future trilogy?

No, and I would reccomend that youactually ask questions and not guess aimlessley.I would but it takes longer to think of a question versus posting an answer. What if my answer was right and I decided to post a question? Charlie Bone is male and is from a book so my guess wasn't aimless. It was an educated guess. Anyway...

1. Is the male a teenager?

gscodeseeker
11th January 2007, 03:22 AM

repobanjo
11th January 2007, 07:48 PM

Is it alex rider?

Mandolin
11th January 2007, 10:27 PM
Even though this contradicts a couple of clues, I'll try it due to a hunch... Sherlock Holmes?

Again, if not...

1. is he older than twenty-one?
2. was the book written before 1900?
3. Does he carry a towel around everywhere?

I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone...

BKSonic1234
11th January 2007, 11:10 PM

lamentofking
11th January 2007, 11:17 PM
1. Are the books that the person is in chronological novels?

repobanjo
11th January 2007, 11:36 PM
Jumbo: No, it's not Alex Rider.

Mandolin: Yes, no, and no.

lamentofking: They go in order, yes.

Mandolin
12th January 2007, 10:42 PM
Methinks you should give us some more clues, like I did... otherwise, it's just too hard.

Anyway...

1. is the author male?
2. did the movie premiere in the last ten years?
3. is there more than one main character? (of equal 'rank' as him?)

lamentofking
13th January 2007, 01:24 AM

repobanjo
14th January 2007, 09:07 PM

Fox McBanjo: No... try asking questions so the game goes by more smoothly.

lamentofking: yes to the first, nay to the second... you only needed to ask one of those questions!

Listen up! Here's the third clue:

clue #3: her show has concluded entirely.

I don't know exactly how much easier that makes it... good luck!

2. yes

Fox McBanjo:

jumbo mumbo:

1. I don't quite understand your question... it was quite popular everywhere, if that's what you mean.

... questions are supposed to be yes/no, but I guess what you've been asking is all right, too. And at the rate you're going, it shouldn't take you long to figure it out. No clue this time (it would be too soon, methinks) but if you don't get it by next time, I'll give you one. ;)
