View Full Version : Could THIS be the Ridiculously Secret Area?

I found a very BT peculiar code on gscentral.com, and I think it definitely needs checking out:

D1132DC2 00AD
81132DC2 010A

Now start the game with codes activated. Pick any saved game, and go to Grunty's Lair to get a VERY special surprise......

It's just a shame that none of the four exits work!!

What is it?! I must know! Post a picture!
I gotta get a non-banjo game so my GS works!

Sorry, can't take screenshots! (On top of that, I just accidentally clicked on the key code for a game I don't have... [grumble])

I did just figure out though that it doesn't work if you have any other codes on except an enabler. I had some other code on, and went to Grunty's Lair as usual. So if it doesn't work, turn other codes off except the enabler!

*tries it*

Nope. No secret area. It's just the room where the Twinklie mini-game takes place.

I'm a bit disappointed. Here I thought the code was going to remove the boulders in GL :p

Edit: Heh heh... that code causes a few other glitches. Like being able to hang out with Klungo (http://www.void-games.com/images/klungo.jpg).

cool, can you get gamesharks and stuff for ROMS, like the Project 64 emulator that I have (no games for it of course, just to maintain my legality [is that the right word?]). I wanna do some gamesharking!

But other than that the secret is still pretty cool I reckon.

I don't think we're allowed to talk about ROMS or Emulators without being beaten with the ban stick.

No, were not allow to ask or post links to them.
I think talk is ok.

Well... Sub pretty much summed it up in the Hacking forum "roms no, tools fine", but that's relating to links. Of course, don't go overboard talking about roms, like making lists or anything. Something like -- "I can't get the face mapper to work with my Goldeneye ROM" would be alright ;)

Correct.

Anyway, Project64 has a feature that allows you to use Gameshark codes...but you can't hack your own with it, unless you use an external program. Alternatively, you can use a different, inferior emulator to hack GS codes.

Also, I don't know why I never fixed the description of that code when Coolboyman submitted it to GSCentral. I always found it a bit...funky. :p

Yeah, it using grunty's lair texture set for twinkie mines background model. I had this problem when I was trying to change the background loads. Managed to fix it as far as I remember.

There it is!

Well that code makes the room look REALLY weird. anyone want to try and list all the things that happen with the code?

You can get past the boulders blocking the slope to the note door without a code, but you still can't climb the slope anyway, there's an invisible wall there. So even if the code did remove the boulders, there's still that an invisible wall keeping you from going further.

so we should try and get a code to get rid of the wall or something?
just how hard can walk through walls be? I had one for Goldeneye, and it lets u go through the locked door behind the barrier in the train and everything
how hard can it be?

I think there's already one. Besides... the point is, there's nothing there!

LOL I remember making that code, It was just simply an experiment with messing with the level's background. Its all screwed up because the graphic set is different between maps.

And Besides, i have gone behind the walls. There is nothing there. The MM path, theres just a very short path and theres nothing past there. The Note Door one, is a slope going up, then nothing.
