European Developer's Forum. Does this mean Ice will be going? Should we expect a full report on it... Magic 8 Ball Says *shakes* "Most Likely"

Should be good.

This got me quite excited. It's like a dream really. Shame I can't go, but I really hope someone gets a full transcript or video footage. I can just imagine being there and the end of his speech the Q and A session...

It's the same 3 days of the ECTS so I might pop over.

Somebody has to tape the whole thing, and I hope there's some nut like myself there asking beta questions.

It would be better if Hollis handed out beta carts ;)

NO, wait, it would be better if he handed out the uncompiled development files -- the "source code", if you will.

Dude, I have a feeling this is going to be great. If no-one asks him about Citadel I will cry....

:)

I told Subdrag my only question would be "Was it fun making the game?"

Hahah, I think we'd never see him again if I asked that.

Hahah, all the more reason to do it! :D

Heh heh...

Hollis: You may ask me three questions.
Sub: That's great, because all I need is one.
Ice: Was it fun making the game?
Hollis: Yes.
Ice: Really?!
Hollis: Yes.
Ice: Was it?!
Hollis: Yes. I hope this has been enlightening for you.
Sub: I have some BETA...
Hollis: Thank you, come again.
Sub: But...
Hollis: Thank you, come again.

My #1 question is probably what other levels did they conceptualize or were planning on creating for the game.

This would be fascinating, and also perhaps give indications on the beta vehicles/objects.

Thanks for that Rip-off. Had you just been watching The Simpsons :D

Sadly, information has been non-existant and Ice Mario did not attend. :/

The most interesting part was about how they designed everything down-up, rather than top-down as most programs. That's as he said why it had such a perfected feel to it. 120 hour weeks, ouch. The most interesting part was about the 40 gadgets, how they just took them from Bond movies, and tried to find purposes for them. Explains a lot actually.

The funniest part was how Goldeneye used 1/3 of processor on graphics, 1/3 audio, 1/3 guns, and 1/3 of something else, plus 10% of another thing. Haha.

Still, not completely revolutionary, but interesting article, and great to see GE talked about again.

Ah good, somebody has posted it. We had it before it it went up on their site but it wasn't for public release.

That was a good read. I liked that. Not as in-depth in terms of BETA stuff like we hoped, but it was still cool :)

1) Why do people often capitalize "beta"?

2) Erm, Martin? 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 4/3. ;)

*reads transcript*

This is pretty nifty, if I may say so myself.

1) Why do people often capitalize "beta"?

More importantly, why do people often capitalize "BETA" (:p) and never "Alpha"? ;)

YoYoPo

4/3 plus 10% = 43/30 ;)

(I think that bit was a joke hehe)

I just realised something else too - GoldenEye was surely one of the first ever games to implement 'realistic' or almost ragdoll physics - blowing up guards with mines anyone?
