Well, I tested it -- used the GS code to remove the secret items so I could re-collect the "good eggs" and the ice key.

Then, as the interview said, to go to Grunty's Furnace Fun and enter the warp cauldron, go into the transformation room and the far door should unlock and Grunty says "It really does sound absurd, a pirate helps a bear and bird!"

...nothing happened. Might just be my game, though, or the fact that I've already gotten the "bad eggs" prior to this. Who knows. I'll just wait for Icy's report ;)

The thing is, it seems so legitimate. Everything the ex-Rare employee says just fits. I dunno. By the way, any clue who this employee is?

I'll take this as the final word. At first I was pretty sure that it was real (though that was mainly due to me misreading gold's post), but the fact that we had never found this text in the game sort of bothered me. Then Sub posted, which basically supports that it is actually a hoax. Still, the fact that it's so well planned is mind-boggling. Besides doing some hoaxing (which is the easy part), they bothered to take the time to take pictures of SnS in various stages, ranging from a missing Ice Key, to only 4 eggs, etc. It would have been vary time consuming. Tack on a very well written essay, which fits just about everything, and you've got one hell of a hoax.

It does sound that way now that I re-read it, I mean the coding of the corridor behind the door, and the yellow warp pots did seem a bit pointless.

Why would you expect anything to happen if they took the feature out the game anyway?

And if the X barrel was a 'bad' egg, then why would they put in a seperate area for it unlike the other 'real' eggs.

Strange stuff, that Ice Key '88' looks a bit stupid though, i've never seen it to that.

Rare did mention the cheat codes, indirectly at least in the Tooie Rumermill. When this came out it made me think the way to get the secret items was cheat codes. And you and Ice Mario proved that.

Out of any hoax, BK or not, this is probably the highest quality one I've seen. Ever. The fact you took your time to actually do a good job on it is just impressive, as well as the fact that the ideas you put forth in the article were spot on took the cake. Not since the "look I have a Sonic 1 beta" hoax (ask Icy if you want) on SWS2B have I seen something this good. Great job. ;)
