I'm guessing it's the massive mirroring on posts causing all sorts of bots to go crazy. Oh and congrats Zoink.

First time I've gotten around to playing most of these, this is amazing! Good job Zoink!

Very well done. First time in a long time this place has been able to do something like this.

spoondiddly 31st March 2012 02:35 PM

Hopefully not the last, though I'm afraid GE might be tapped out.

Give it a couple weeks and Sub will probably find the original PerfectFace code or something. You have to remember these things are all part of Rare's cunning strategy to deny obvious features and rack up huge publicity when they break.

The Spectrum is amazing. I remember a long, long while back playing one of the other clones of the computer. My Grandfather had one from when he ran a RCA store with his brother. It's a simple but amazing little computer with one of the best game libraries ever made. Sure, it took forever for the tapes to load and heaven forbid it goofed up but wow, awesome. Still have the tape drive and use it to upload audio tapes to computer.

Only gypo's had Spectrums. The cool kids had a Commodore 64 :)

Seriously great work guys; she just keeps giving.

I think the greatest thing about this is that it's 2012 and something has still been found. Just amazing. Time to tear DK64 apart.

Edit: So I'm at work; using a virtual XP machine while their little Mac computers have windows booted on it.

Basically what this means is, if i use the emulator through project 64 i'd have a game on an emulator, in an emulator, on a virtual machine, on an operating system, on another machine. We need to go deeper.

Nayib 31st March 2012 07:55 PM

Actually lemme think that through again

It's be a game, in an emulator, in a game, in an emulator, on an operating system, on a virtual machine, on an operating system, on a machine.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. Brain hurts.

EDIT:
OKAY. I GOT IT. BECAUSE THE KOTAKU COMMENTS GAVE ME INSPIRATION. WE JUST HAVE TO INCLUDE MORE OPERATING SYSTEMS, MACHINES, AND THE REAL WORLD AS A LAYER.

THE REAL WORLD > WII MACHINE > LINUX FOR WII > LINUX N64 EMULATOR > GOLDENEYE > ZX EMULATOR > JETPAC.

No, wait. That's still removing layers.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF--

EDIT: EDIT:
What if we emulate machines emulating machines?
THE REAL WORLD > MAC > VIRTUAL WINDOWS > WII EMU ON WINDOWS > LINUX ON WII > N64 EMU ON LINUX > GOLDENEYE > ZX EMU IN GE > JETPAC.
That's nine layers! I'm getting somewhere!

Dan 31st March 2012 08:23 PM

Kotaku? Fantastic. They'll think of things.

This is an interesting question from Reddit;

Any thoughts?

Copyright law act whatever it was that used the end use liscense agreements pertained to N64 cartridges upon opening the box, you can find them in your manuals.

In short; no.

It's amazing that stuff is still being found in these cartridges. Awesome work, spoondiddly.

I have found something pretty interesting. After playing of Atic Atac, 1881 barrel in Banjo-Kazooie opens and way to Cyan Egg is unlocked! woah!

Run one or two emus built for a virtual machine (java, python, etc). That'll kick it up.
Your poor processor though...

It is really neat to see how many Spectrum-era homages were just in the BK series much less across all their games.
