So, I'm Saving Up For a 360

After hours of deciding between it and the DSi, I've decided to go with a 360. Few questions though. Which is the best and most reliable (least likely to RROD) model. Also, which games should I start off with. I'm thinking about Nab, Halo 3, and possibly the Orange Box. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance! ^_^

Well the most recent Xbox 360 consoles are being made to fail less (I don't really know much about the technical side of the hardware failures).

Gameswise, I think what you have chosen are great choices, I'm not a particular fan of The Orange Box, but still a great package. Looks like your getting a 360 at the perfect time as well, as all the great games from E3 will soon start to be released.

Ok, I just explained this in a thread, so instead of explain it again, I will link you to that thread, best of luck, and excellent choice, all three of those games would be great starts.

All your answers are in this thread.

Someone should make a xBox 360 FAQ thread, with quotes in it from around the forum.

Maybe I should. :3

My starter games for when I get a 360 are probably going to be something like Halo 3, NaB and Mirror's Edge. Also the Halo 3 map packs.

I received the the Pro bundle that came with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Forza Moter Sports 2 for Christmas in 2007, and I have yet to have any problems, so I'm sure if my 2007 model of the 360 could do this well, you shouldn't have any problems with the new version. Also, do not get a fan for your 360, from what I heard, they don't solve problems, just make more. Oh and I recommend you get the pro version, it's not as expensive as the Elite, an it comes with a hardrive and a headset. If you would like to play games online, you're going to have to get either a router or the wireless Xbox online connector of magic and happiness which will cost you $100.

You're also going to need to buy a gold account to play onine, I think it's $50 for a yearly subscription. I also recommend you buy a controller recharger, or a wired controller, (so you don't have to keep buying batteries). I have a wired controller from Joytech, it's more like a regular Xbox controller than a 360 controller, but I got used to it. My only problem with it is that I had to turn my vibration off because the other players could hear the vibration.

No way dude wireless controllers are beast mode, just buy some rechargable batteries (I have 4 personally, 2 for Wii 2 for 360)

But I prefer wired controllers.:( Oh well, it's your choice sam.26.

Get the Pro or Elite console version, NOT the Arcade version. You will need a hard drive to play the awesome games.

Get the Orange Box for PC if you can...id recommend getting an rpg if your into those games (Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Oblivion). Or if you prefer jrpgs (i dont like em) then ive heard good things about Lost Oddessy and Last Remnant.

If you dont like rpgs at all then id recommend getting another fps/tps. Something like Call of Duty or Gears of War. If you want a racing game then i recommend Burnout Paradise (that and Mario Kart are the only 2 racing franchises i like). I strongly recommend Mass Effect though as its such an awesome game.

For XBLA, Get Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie of course!

Thanks everyone. However, I'm not sure if I should pay for Live. What's the advantages of it over Nintendo WFC?

Also, does anybody know if the gamertags Sam.26 or Samdot26 have been taken?

You......

You are absolutely kidding right ? Apart from Nintendo's WFC being about as functional as the Dreamcast's internet service ?

Xbox Live is more than worth the money, pay for one month, get Halo 3, and I DARE you to go back to Nintendo.

Avarice 18th June 2009 05:12 AM

Yeah, choosing LIVE over Nintendo's WFC is like choosing your favorite food over your own shit. The shit is still technically edible, but you end up wishing you could just pay for something good.

sam.26 18th June 2009 05:18 AM

I know it's better, but what's so good about it?

skine99 18th June 2009 05:36 AM

What is Nintendo Wifi Conection and how do I get one?
