Well, Pikmin is a race of creatures. Pokemon is a race with several sub-races as creatures.

That's like naming a dog instead of a chihuahua, etc.

and that's all I can think of for now.

I know the OP says no Rare games, but I had others. So suck it.

I appreciate all of these character choices. I would have included Sora and maybe Riku for Kingdom Hearts like 10 years ago when I used to be a big fan but since they don't ever plan on making another game with him in it, I've lost interest.

I would probably also throw Master Chief, Isaac Clarke, the big daddy, and Glados and Wheatley as favorites of mine for different reasons. I feel like there are a few others I like but I can't think of them.

Well then my favorite non-Rare characters are Sonic the Hedgehog, and every single Pikmin and Pokemon ever spawned.

Marcus - Fallout 2, New Vegas. While he was probably the best companion in Fallout 2 in that having him swayed most battles in your favor considerably, I like him better in New Vegas, where he wasn't a companion. In NV, he was a wise old mayor who gave you backstory from Fallout and Fallout 2, as well as gave insight on the story of NV.

Jack - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. Badass old vampire from the pirate days, Jack is also voiced by John DiMaggio (aka Jake from Adventure Time). He is also one of the few people who stays on your side throughout the entire game, and helps you through the tutorial level.
