Being gay is who I am, and truthfully, I'm perfectly happy being this way.
Life is much easier being straight in many respects -- there's no stressful coming out situations, no denials, no worries about falling for a straight friend, no discrimination or prejudice... Straight people are fortunate in that they don't have to deal with such situations. Such a life is definitely appealing on the surface.
But being gay is all I've ever known. Despite the occasional hardships, I wouldn't want that taken away from me, even if I had the option. I wouldn't be "me" then.
Turning bi though? Now that's a better scenario. I've always envied them a little.
