I first heard about it, in a book called Inheritance. (Part of the Inheritance cycle. I recommend.) The quote from it is good to explain it. She says...

"What is time but motion? And what is motion but heat? And are not heat and energy but different names for the same thing?"

This intrigued me, and there is some scientific talk about it, though I haven't web-searched into it too much. It means something like,

Time=Motion, Motion=Heat, Heat=Energy


This suggests that they are closely related or convertable or something. So when I say, "...the theory that Time and Temperature are one and the same," I mean not exactly the same but related somehow. I do not think that there is really such a thing as Time. It's just Motion and your memory really...
