"Leaked" Microsoft E3 line-up

Apparently there has been an alleged leak of what Microsoft plans to reveal at E3. The reason I put this in the Rare forum is because a couple of the supposed reveals was a reboot of both Battletoads as a download only title and Perfect Dark as a 3rd person action adventure game (like uncharted).

Platinum game - sort of like Viewtiful Joe beat em' up

I think Bethesda said somewhere that they won't be talking Fallout 4 for a long time. they might have said they won't be showing it at E3 but I can't remember. that's enough for me to be highly skeptical of this.

Some of those seem pretty likely. At least the Ryse 2, Halo 2 anniversary, and some kinect-only game to try and convince people it's worth the extra $100

As fake as a fake can be.

Spencer was adamant in denying Battletoads recently on Twitter, and I don't believe he would do that just to mislead everyone. Not to mention he said he was not interested in doing "cheap ports", and this digital only thing indicates it would be a cheap, low-budget game at the very least.

Perfect Dark is a terrible choice for a fake. Microsoft has too many shooters, it makes no sense to invest in another one right now, especially a TPS. They have Halo, Titanfall, Sunset Overdrive, Gears, Quantum Break and Plants vs Zombies, FOUR of which are TPS titles. Why would they misrepresent Perfect Dark as we know and love by doing yet another TPS?

I guess it could make sense if it was a full stealth game like Splinter Cell, but that's just not what the franchise is. An objective-based FPS with basic elements of stealth in the same vein of PD64 would be more believable/plausible, because it's the kind of FPS that nobody does these days and I think it would be well received. But a TPS with generic gunplay like Uncharted? Absurd.

That said, stuff such as Halo 2A, Horizon 2, etc are almost facts by now. NTKRNL was a real insider, the details that came up today about Sunset Overdrive pretty much confirm that. He even got the drink name right. And that guy said at the time that he had no idea what Rare was up to. Probably because they were up to jack shit other than KSR.

I've been saying this everywhere I post, but I'd be VERY surprised if Rare announces or shows anything at this E3. I doubt they even know at this very moment what they'll do next. Spencer is probably waiting to see how KSR does in terms of sales before he decides what to greenlight next. Whatever projects Rare has cooking on their barns right now it's all most certainly prototypes at extremely early stages and not ready to be announced, let alone shown.

The lack of Pinata's is what makes me want to doubt this. If Microsoft wants Rare to show off what there console can do, than Viva Pinata makes far more sense than any other Rare IP. Battle Toad's is a minor thing that could be done alongside any other effort, but unless they are developing 2 major titles I'd like to have Pinata over a new Perfect Dark game. Xbox has enough shooters.

Okay, going to be serious now. I was certain a new Battletoads would have been announced, because Phil Spencer said he loves Battletoads and would love to see a new one.
Regarding Perfect Dark, the fact it's going to be a TPS instead of a FPS is shocking, but anything Perfect Dark related is good, and the games market is already full of FPS games, so a Third Person Shooter's gonna be interesting.
Now I'm ready to buy an Xbox One.
