My main complaint is that saving clears your progress and takes away your money and supplies. That's not an OK thing for a game to do. If any other game had done it, people would not have stood for it, but for some reason this one gets a free pass in spite of its glaringly awful design choice. There's an item, the Ringleader's Mask, that does not a damn thing at all (except to help you beat a sidequest you need to already have completed in order to get the mask in the first place), and most of the other masks are used once for one tiny thing and then never serve any other purpose (same with most of your items). Termina Field's design is terrible. I could go on, but I don't want to hijack this thread. If you really want to know more about my opinions, profile message me or start another thread.

Alright for starters, Majoras mask is bigger than Ocarina of time. It's only 4 dungeons sure; but it's because of all the other things outside of it. It's a significantly more sidequest oriented game.

Secondly, the circus leaders mask is given to you because you have to do that race again for other tasks within the game, and it's a way of not having to do it more than once. It lets you automatically win. Plenty of games give you things like that. Even the dungeons let you warp to the boss after winning, so you don't have to re-endure it. It's simply your reward to get through that part. It's not 'useless'.

You don't lose everything when you save your gave (try saving at an owl statue) just your collectible items, that way you can't just stock up on arrows and THEN start your 3 day mission, that'd be bullshit. You can use the bank to save all of your money however.

It's not hard to get these items again. Not only that, but with a game where a major part of the plot is time and things resetting, it only makes sense that such things would happen.

Ultimately, theses masks are used to obtain the Fierce Diety's Mask which is the easiest way to beat the final boss. And the only item I can think of that you don't use ever again are the Magic Beans, and yet you can still reuse those through time traveling.

But this is a discussion for another thread.

What's funny is it isn't even the longest game in the series if you aren't obsesive about 100% completion. Look up the Majora's Mask speedrun on youtube sometime. Turns out you can finish the game without resetting time (after your first faceoff with the skullkid, obviously).

Of all the 3D games I'd really have to say Majora is still my favorite with Skyward Sword pulling a close second. In some ways it plays similiarly, where each area is a puzzle leading to the labyrinth.
Still, the resetting in Majora is one of the points I hold in its favor. It isn't like they don't innundate you with bombs, arrows, and ruppees.

Gerudo valley and kokiri forest are forever special tunes; but I will never forgive OoT for being the only zelda game that didn't use the main theme anywhere. Skyward sword had some truly beautiful music, and it's the one I find stuck in my head.

This is odd, the only Skyward Sword song stuck in my head is the main theme and that doesn't appear anywhere in the game :/
Edit: My bad, it does, Zelda sings it near the intro.

What? Can you prove this because if what you're saying is true then I wasn't paying attention at all during that game, and I doubt that's the case.

So, what you've NEVER heard the theme song then? It's obviously somewhere in the game. The actual theme of the legend of zelda doesn't appear anywhere in ocarina of time. Now THAT is blasphemy.

Isn't the Hyrule theme also the LoZ theme?

In majoras mask and stuff, why yes, yes it is! but go play OOT; hyrule field had some sort of unique not-main-theme song that has appeared no where else in any other game. But the main zelda theme is no where to be found in oot
