THe Great RWP Rap Battle

So, as you might already know, a rap in the style of the Donkey Kong 64 rap has been made for Yooka Laylee.




Totally rad, right? But do you know what is even more rad than listening to raps?

Performing a rap yourself!

So, my challenge to you fine people on the internet is this: Record yourself rapping the Yooka-Laylee rap! Feel free to improv or make it a remix too. As long as you submit a recording following the rules below, you'll automatically win a free participation award here on the Project that will never be available ever again. Whoever submits the most creative video will also receive a special award that shows that they are the certified, number one rap-master of the RWP.

The Rules

• Record yourself or a group of friends rapping to the Yooka-Laylee rap.
• The entire song must be rapped. You can edit the music and rhythm, but no cutting any lyrics out.
• You may record just the audio, but a video will earn extra points in the competition.
• You must submit your entry by 11:59 PM on April 30th.
• Have fun!

Are you sure? I don't think last year's RWP Awards, ah, awards were handed out, haha.

Let me give this some thought- I can't rap but neither can the Rare / Playtonic staff so I don't see why I can't give this a go!

Aiight, I mean I'm just asking because if we're gonna karaoke this thing, the original vocals are gonna be audible underneath it as well in that case.

I might do this with a different instrumental.

I'd rather sing the DK rap... just because saying 'pagies in cagies' sounds incredibly silly..er.. than the DK rap

That's actually my favorite part, or at least the part that gets stuck in my head most often...

When I first heard the rap, I was sorta in Whyme's position because that line stuck out to me--maybe not in a negative way, but definitely "stuck out".

But now when I'm playing the game and see a Pagie in a Cagie, that line gets uttered. Every time.
