NX Rumors

Recently some rumors have been floating around that I guess are credible. The first is that the NX will be superior to the PS4 (CPU, GPU, etc) and the second is that Wii U games such as Smash, Splatoon, and Mario Maker will be ported to the NX, possibly for launch. What do you think about these rumors? Would you be willing to shell out more money to buy these games again? Do you think its all true or just wishful thinking?

These rumors are from a user on NeoGAF with support from Emily Rogers, the person who predicted Paper Mario Wii U a while back.

I think it's a bit more likely I'll get an NX than a Playstation VR this year if these rumors are true. I don't have Splatoon or Mario Maker yet, and if Smash has all of the DLC bundled in, I'll buy it again.

I don't think I would pay for those games again. I hope the system would be backwards compatible in some way. Nintendo needs a solid amount of NX-original content before I jump on board.

I would only buy Smash again if new characters were on the horizon. Which let's be honest, if Smash comes to NX there will be new characters coming as well to boost interest.

I swear if the NX turns out like the PS4 (which most of its games are just ports of PS3 and Vita games and most of its exclusives get released later on other systems) I am really going to lose it.

But they gotta show some new games tho

Those ports sound cool and all but I have all those games and would only be interested in getting an NX if they showed something new for it

in that case, i think i'll just stop caring about mario

2d marios are really good, but the 64/sunshine/galaxy-style 3d ones are the only ones i've ever personally cared about much so if they just stick to the 3d world formula from now on i'll lose interest

3D World was overrated, I feel. And it scares me because now I think Nintendo will want to continue the pseudo 3D Mario series. I want another Galaxy type game

In terms of modern 2D platformers, I think Mario has been outpaced by others. If we get another 3D World-type for the next 3D Mario I wonder if I will be able to care, especially with stuff like A Hat in Time and Yooka-Laylee on the horizon.
