Big Blue - Mario Kart 8 is the Best Piece of Music That Nintendo Has Ever Produced
Attempt to disagree with me.

That is an excellent song, but I still hold up this song that is not from a Nintendo game and therefore probably irrelevant to the topic but I'm going to post it anyway as one of the ultimate examples of a radical awesome kick-ass fantastic piece of music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDEGDUUVs-U
Also, the best piece of music Nintendo has ever produced is objectively, actually, the Rawk Hawk battle theme. Or something from Pikmin, I guess. Last edited by The Colonel; 28th April 2015 at 04:47 AM. |

I'm in love with the drummer
Yeah hot dang it's awesome, but no I wouldn't say it's the best music Nintendo has made. There is simply too much gold for that to be true.

Can we all just stop and appreciate modern Nintendo's god-tier saxophone and trumpet game

Yeah, Nintendo's been doing some fantastic stuff lately- Mario Kart 8's soundtrack as a whole is amazing. Bowser's Castle, GBA Mario Circuit, Dolphin Shoals, ****ing GBA Cheese Land. Even the Animal Crossing tracks are amazing. And I love the bass player- he gets so into it when he plays, especially in the second half of the recording of Super Bell Subway when he starts doing the Mario underground theme for the bass line.
The saxophone improvisation solo that hits in the final lap / stretch of the track (and present in the recording in the first post) is incredible and all the musicians in this are amazing and I hope Nintendo does more with them.

A good saxophone in ANY song always gets me. The sax might as well be my favorite instrument. And lord Jesus in heaven, this song has one of the sexiest saxes in existence. I feel like my ears just had sax. I mean sex. I mean. ****. This music is dope.

The soundtrack is amazing. Though I say the Galaxy games still got it beat. Galaxy 2 at least. But anything Nintendo does that is orchestrated is amazing

They could do so many things with F-Zero but Miyamoto is like, "We can only make a new F-Zero once we find the Holy Grail."
I hope we haven't seen the last of DLC tracks for MK8 so we a totally jazzed out version of this. Last edited by Esteban Colberto; 30th April 2015 at 01:23 AM. |

That was one of my biggest wishes for the DLC, was Wario Colosseum, if only for the music. I'd love for it to get arranged with live instruments.
As far as the tracks themselves, Waluigi Stadium would be neat, too, but I feel like all the slopes and twists and turns of Colosseum would play to the anti-gravity strengths.

Big Blue is good, but is it Good Egg Galaxy good? (It is not.) I'd also like to nominate the Forest and Spirit Temples from Ocarina of Time as the best songs Nintendo has ever composed. Unless Rare songs count, in which case Stickerbush Symphony takes the cake.

I'd nominate either the Final Bowser Fight from Mario Galaxy 2, or Pollyanna for best music on a Nintendo console.

Am I allowed to nominate something from a game that isn't out yet?
Because this piece from Xenoblade Chronicles X is really freaking fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBqkzq8nAQI

Nintendo music? So much goodness to choose from. Personally I am a fan of "we drop acid before we compose the music for the final boss" style found in the Kirby games. This is my favorite, it's ****ing great.
