Very interesting post! I noticed that Devil bottles deactivates too. Don't forget pausing the game brings only a limited menu, like that one on BK.

It looks a bit like the pipes in and around bubble gloop swamp in BK, and the pipe you swim through to get to the jigsaw for BGG, (beside the clanker's cavern enterance)

I went to the pipe with all the moves, notes, jiggies, and Dragon Kazooie, and when the song ended I fell on purpose. Then Jam Jars said that I had all 90 jiggies. Then Banjo was bird handling Kazooie. When I fell back down the pit, Banjo was not bird handling Kazooie. Maybe we have to shoot somewhere. I had no eggs so I couldn't try.

I also just had Banjo bird handling Kazooie, also had no eggs. I doubt there is anything to shoot. I also had dragin kazooie and went for a fly around.

Not that intresting, but I was looking to this beta pipe with bottles revenge on, and i changed the value to 00A2 (which is also listed as a freeze diget) and jumped of the pipe into the black. And a cut scene started to play. It was the cut scene where Grunty's siters arive with the digger, after that it crashed. Wierd enough it only worked ones, if i try it now the game just freezes.

Oh something interesting occured. Usually when I drop from the pipe Banjo yells and that is it. However, this time after dropping (and floating with the flip flap) as I fellm i guided myself down in the blackness and the music that comes on when you die sounded. Mmm..
EDIT: Worked out the music sounds if you do a beak bust down the hole.

Just found something else out.
Turn in to the submarine and shoot the walls, so you are harmed. Once you die, do it again - you have no energy already and so you die and are left with just the music and water running down the pipe and so have to reset. Also if you beak bust down the hole so you hear the death music, you have no energy left and can no longer pause the game to get any menus. Nothing special, but interesting to see what things work and do not.

Theory!
In the spiral mountain world in banjo-kazooie, there was a waterfall. Above the waterfall was a cave. You could not enter the cave. Maybe the pipe was what was inside the cave. (a second link to grunty's lair, perhaps? )

Just a couple of problems with tha theory though:
1) This is in Banjo Tooie. 2) In Banjo Kazooie, using cheats to levitate to the cave reveals it is just "painted" on to the rocks. Or do you mean something else?

Well....
Maybe the pipe was in the banjo-tooie cave. Maybe the BK cave wasn't originally painted onto the rocks.

Perhaos at one stage the pipe could have been in the BT cave, although it was obviously replaced with the cave which holds the BK pak with the blue egg in it. Werther the BK cave was originally painted or not is not really a factor anyway because it is and has nothing to do with this pipe which is in BT.

I think the beta pipe was originally going to be the area that Banjo entered in JRL, which accessed Grunty Industries. But the designers realized how monotonous just a pipe area would be, so they changed it into the current sewage plant room. For whatever reason, they found it too difficult and time-consuming to add the rest of the area onto the pipe, so they just threw that map out and made a new one.

That's a very possible and good theory. To be honest I doubt anything else will be found from visitations to this infamous green pipe.

Another possibility is that the pipe area was actually a part of the JRL main map (due to the exactness of it), but the developers decided it would be unecessary for that extra length and textures, but they decided it could be used later, so they saved it as a seperate map. Then they must have forgot about it and left it in there.
