Conker's Big Reunion (A Project Spark thing)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag1sC68A2JA
Looks like there's gonna be an episodic Conker game within Project Spark. I get this weird empty feeling from the teaser. |

Empty feeling? That looks awesome.

I mean, at least Chris Seavor's back to voice him.

I dunno, maybe it was the animations or something but something about it doesn't sit right with me. Like when he asks where the shooting/explosions/poo is he visually doesn't look like he is showing what he is saying and that's throwing me off.
EDIT: Maybe 'sterile' would be a better word for what I'm trying to get at? Last edited by 1UP; 19th March 2015 at 04:48 PM. |

That...actually looks really promising. They seem to be keeping the smut of the original game. This might be the most "Rareware" thing to be released since the Nintendo days!

I honestly think this could work well in episodic form, especially if each episode parodied different things and had its own gameplay twist, kinda like how the original worked with its different levels.

Yes, I am glad they are putting in all of the things that made Conker great, like guns, pubs, and poop. These are the three sole reasons Conker's Bad Fur Day is a classic.

I wish the facial expressions were better, but this looks interesting.

It definitely looks interesting, it seems like they're doing some kind of sequel to the first game. I can't wait to get my hands on an Xbox One.

If they get rid of the horrible, grotesque looks all of the enemies have going on and make them look more cartoony to fit in with Project Spark's art style then it is officially complete garbage.

Good god... this looks absolutely ****ing terrible. They completely botched Conker's design, he looks like a puppet. His expressions are so woody it's downright creepy. This thing looks considerably worse than L&R which was released 2 generations and one decade ago. Just think about that for a moment. And what's with Chris' voice? I can't even understand half of what he says. He sounds like he's in pain.
I don't mind the episodic format or the fact that TD is doing it, what makes me sad is that this pretty much confirms there won't be a decent-budget Conker by a talented developer anytime soon. There was still hope when this was supposedly just a tool for other people to make their games. But this is clearly MS's response for failing to convince Insomniac to do a proper game. Hope the actual game turns out to be fun but I've got no reason to believe that right now. The whole trailer is very, very lame. |

Looks good that might have to check it out. But I don't really understand what spark is.

Just fix up the animations a bit. And like Salty I also think the DLC is to make up for the whole Insomniac thing. Oh well MS wanted to introduce Conker again to tons of people and it looks like they will afterall. Only problem is that I sort of wanted a full Conker game that wasn't part of Project Spark. But since that is very unlikely I'll take what I can get.
Now I wait and watch for the next Rare IP comeback attempt. We have Battletoads in Shovel Knight (and some hints and a new Battletoads game if I'm correct) and Conker in Project Spark. Wonder what comes next. |
