Whoa, I didn't realize I was that far into Devil May Cry 1. It feels way shorter and smaller than Metal Gear Rising, even though they're apparently both roughly the same length. Sucks that it doesn't have as much to offer, but it's the first real character action game after all, so I guess I can't complain.

Beat Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. Gonna go back and 100% DKC2, then 100% DKC3.
Yeah, I get how people feel about it. It was really good, it just wasn't Diddy's Kong Quest good. It has a lot of cool stuff I like, but the base gameplay doesn't feel as buttery smooth.

Got all the way to Forest Haven in one run. Not bad!

That mini board game in Birth By Sleep is surprisingly fun when you get the hang of it. Also who knew melding commands actually helped. My first time playing this game I never touched D-link, melding, or the board game. Now I feel like a god with my super commands and long combos

60% completion in my newest playthrough of Donkey Kong 64. While I still like it, I am gaining a much greater understanding of why many people hate it. Fortunately, I have a bottomless stomach for collectathon-ing and mini-gaming.

Platinumed Unity, played some Just Dance 2015 at my Birthday Party, and just finished up the easy runthrough of The Force Unleashed. Now for the super hard run and collecting the rest of the trophies.

resident dk64 apologist here, and i would just like to say that holy ****ing shit beaver bother is absolute garbage i am never going to even attempt to beat it without save states, and that's something i refused to do with any of the other frustrating parts of dk64

I made a mood modifier code for Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures to see if I could find any interesting interactions when Pac-Man is in moods he can't normally be in for that situation. Literally the first thing I tried was amazing.

Diddy Kong Racing is really hard, but it's actually less bullshit than I originally thought. I mean, as long as you remember the boost trick. If you don't know the boost trick, the game is ****ing impossible.
Aaaand now I just beat it. Adventure mode, at least. I won't bother with Adventure 2 for now, I'll do it whenever I revisit the game. For now, moving onto Mario Kart 64 for my retro kart racer singleplayer fix. Last edited by The Colonel; 31st May 2015 at 03:10 AM.

Just beat the original Tomb Raider on PC. Fun game, but even with a 360 controller I ended up dying a LOT because Lara would run off a ledge or the camera would suddenly switch and I ended up completely missing a jump. Just moved onto Tomb Raider II and while I'm only on the second level, I can definitely feel an improvement over the first game. Using keyboard controls this time since the game doesn't want to work with my 360 controller, but it's not so bad thus far. Loving the environments and levels over Tomb Raider I up to this point.

Jesus christ, I almost forgot why Mega Man Legends is one of the only PS1 games that doesn't look ugly as shit. Thanks for reminding me, Crash Bandicoot: Warped.

I've been playing through the Gears of War series. They're alright. I haven't beaten the third one but it's already my favorite. The gameplay is tighter and more satisfying, the set pieces are actually impressive, the graphics are gorgeous and hold up to this day (whereas the same cannot be said for the other two). I'm not too invested in Sera or its musclebound heroes and the story is only surface-level entertaining but at least 3 has good pacing and runs more with a Mad Max vibe. Also, cannot unhear Jake the Dog in Marcus Fenix (being, as they are, voiced by the same dude), especially when he says, "GET THE **** OUTTA MY WAY PLEASE!" Jake's voice really comes through.
I also just had the rather unpleasant experience of trying to get back into The Witcher 2 after not having played it for months. I forgot how hard the combat was and any of the skills I might have learned while playing through it before. The first battle (which appears unskippable) I got into handed my ass to me several times over. Bleh.
