I was going to start Twin Snakes tonight, but it's such an absorbing and wonderful experience experience that I have to give it undue attention. Gotta finish that other vidya first. So many great moments.
Oh boo hoo bullet time, because THAT'S the most ridiculous thing in the Metal Gear Solid universe... |

even if policenauts is not kojima-san's best game, it is still a hideo kojima game and has the best bad bomb disarming sequence that i've simultaneously hated and loved of all time

I love the Metal Gear series, but damn am I bad at them. I got frustrated with both Metal Gear on easy mode and Twin Snakes on hard. Think I'm just gonna go with Twin Snakes on normal because it's all I can handle.

I just finished Peace Walker. Gotta play Revengeance and Ground Zeroes next.

Play Revengeance on Hard the first time, Revengeance Normal difficulty is kind of easy for that kind of game and Hard still isn't quite as hard as, say, Devil May Cry. The big thing is that Hard makes you get down the timing for Parry-counters much more precisely, which is a lot more fun.

I suck at hardcore action games and the crazy final boss was ****ing stupid hard for me. I'm waiting until MGS5 is out and in my possession before I start Ground Zeroes. Pondering whether or not to replay Peace Walker in my replay of the series. I mean, it was good but I wasn't a fan of the micromanaging rpg elements or all those sidequests. Or the insanely difficult bosses that were made for co-op but not toned down when playing alone. I mean sure, it made it the most content-dense MGS ever but meh. I prefer MGS1 through 4. I'll still probably replay it because each chapter in the series is worth experiencing at least more than once.
Another thing, the Fulton Recovery stuff that was fitting for the arcadey, comic-book style of Peace Walker seems completely ridiculous in MGS5, even for MGS. I mean just having a gameplay mechanic that involves you recruiting enemy soldiers that are immediately whisked away to your base, terrified screams echoing throughout the countryside (in a stealth game)... and I'm to expect that *none* of these soldiers that were essentially kidnapped just automatically subscribe to Big Boss's ideology, and that *none* of them, not even a single one, will attempt a mutiny? And that in the end they're just there to flesh out the micromanaging, number-crunching aspect of the game? Bleh. It's just such a weird mechanic for this series. Not a fan. Semi-related, **** Konami. |

Also Revengeance, afaik, isn't canon. So don't worry about it. I mean, it may as well be canon cuz it's ridiculous but grounded in some kind of strange reality and real-world logic and politics, not to mention the tons of extraneous detail that the series is known for. Takes place after MGS4, according to its own mythos... but Kojima didn't write it. So, I consider it a fun piece of fluff... a nice spin-off.

I'm pretty sure Revengeance is canon, actually. I know Kojima is a really huge fan of it, I believe it's been stated that he really loves what Platinum did with it on the whole. Even if it wasn't canon, it's such a fantastic action game you're committing a crime against yourself if you don't play it.
Also I've been working on 100% for Project Diva before I move on to 2nd. I'm trying to get every Vocaloid module and their accompanying swimsuit version because Last edited by The Colonel; 4th July 2015 at 07:14 AM. |

The MGS series as it stands is coming to an absolute end. MGSV is the real finale. It's funny because literally every numbered MGS has been touted as the end. I feel like Kojima had the story of MGSV in his head for a long time considering Peace Walker leads directly into it.

Konami will probably try to do something with MGS but it isn't going to be Revengeance 2 and because Kojima won't be there it will be bad so MGSV might as well be the end, yeah.
On the bright side, Kojima will finally be able to work on something he actually wants to make, rather than making the most of a sequel he was forced into by Konami because the last game also sold well. |

After rewatching the MGSV E3 trailer for the umpteenth time, this time on an HD monitor with a 60 Hz refresh rate, I have to say... I want to experience video games at 60 now.
