Since the bridge seems to be out has anybody ever found a way to see Valoo after beating the Lava dungeon there or does it require hacking?

You can see Valoo at the top of Dragonroost Island while sailing away. Dunno if a picture of that counts for the Nintendo Gallery though.

It might be one of the special pictures you have to buy off the Pictograph sales man.

I believe you still can see him. In the area where Medli gives you the grappling hook, if you turn around you should be able to get a picture of his head.

Get to the ledge where the bridge used to be that collapsed when you first went to see Valoo, look up and take a picture of his head, it's good enough to get the picture.

You can also take a picture of him from the ocean. You don't even have to be on the island.

Both Smouvy and Dan are correct, a picture of Valoo from the ocean will count in the Gallery, but it has to be a clear one. Try to get far enough away from the island where you can see him in profile but not too far.
