It gets praise from everyone for being EFFING 100% MADE OF PURE GRADE-A AWESOME. Really, it's been two consoles since and it's still grander than every newer Zelda game.

Well, I'll admit it's loads better than TP, and it did revolutionize 3D adventure games, but I found Wind Waker to be more enjoyable as a game.

Anyway, the sheer unrivaled epicness of the plot is also a factor. And I guess it's mainly the technical aspect of it that puts it so high up on the list.

Sorry, I didn't really care for Twilight Princess...But I did love Minda!

Minda? I see there are still secret characters in the game I've yet to discover.
And here I was, thinking Midna was the only one.

I'm gonna agree with Mandolin here since OOT was way beyond it's time and is still incredibly fun today. I was actually speed running it with a friend not too long ago and another friend was watching us. The guy watching is like a casual, 360 gamer. Halo, Gears and all that jazz, but he was saying things like "Wow, this game looks incredible. I can't believe I missed out on this".

OOT was revolutionary. That doesn't mean it's the best game ever. From a historical standpoint, maybe, but its overall quality has been greatly improved upon.

However, as far as innovation, Ocarina of Time was a masterpiece of it's time, and while Twilight Princess is superior to OoT in almost every way, it isn't really all that innovative.

But OoT didn't revolutionize nothin'. 3D had been done plenty of times already before it.

I saw F-Zero GX and was unsettled..then F-Zero and became stricken with fear...but then I saw they had placed F-Zero X ahead of both..and all is well.

It's not nostalgia. Twilight Princess improved on everything except scope and plot, and those things are important. That Back to the Future-esque gambit about things changing in one time period affecting how things turn out in the other is brilliant, as is the trans-epoch search for the seven sages, the character dynamics, the side quests, the music...
