I don't think what he said is contradictory at all, it makes perfect sense. They want to revive the game but A) they know that they need to evolve formula in some ways and B) they know they can't do anything radical like N&B. They need to hit some kind of middle ground. The term "reboot" is simply because it's been 15 years since we last had a true Banjo platformer.

What do you mean plays like BK but not BT they play the exact same. Or do you mean youd prefer a smaller/easier game like kazooie where tooie was a lot bigger/harder. I'd prefer something inbetween the two myself. But obviously I'd want gained abilities to remain and new ones to be found.

If the word reboot is nothing more than a term as you say I'd be happy but reboot generally means start again from scratch.

Yeah, I was talking scale. Tooie is too big for its own good and there's way too much backtracking if you want to do 100%.

As for the word reboot, I think it does kinda mean starting from scratch, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I wouldn't expect to have every single ability from BK and BT, the game needs balance in its design. I don't want them to overwhelm players with a bunch of new moves on top of dozens of abilities from the previous games just for the sake of continuity. It would be difficult to design a game around so many different mechanics. I want balance and focus.

I agree, tooie was too much at times, I DREAD grunty industries when I'm playing it and the back tracking and difficulty do make 100%ing kinda tedious. I wouldn't mind if the majority of tooies moves were left behind as long as they keep the important ones like talon trot. I liked the tease of new moves in the 06 trailer like the chainsaw (that they didn't deliver)

edit: He only got a 90% on his assignment? The hell? Give that boy the full 100%! He really got us. Even my skeptical ass. People always gotta put video games lower on the ladder, lmao. Seems like a balls hard assignment, anyway.
