DK64 Help please

So I'm finally playing DK64 and actually plan to finish it for a change, with 100% (101?%). Right now I'm at Frantic Factory, but I had to skip one golden banana from Angry Aztec because I simply just couldn't obtain it. It's the one where you grow small with tiny, then the bird picks you up and drops you in a friggin hard race minigame.

Any tips on how to succesfully finish this minigame?

First of all you need to know when to go fast and when to go slow. That will take a good amount of time to learn.
The hardest part is definately the last couple of corners, where the beetle usually takes the lead. You'll need to be in front before those corners, but don't push it too much in the corners, as there are very sharp.
You can hit the beetle at the beginning and in the end of the race to slow him down

I'm prettys sure I beat that one, but I forget exactly how. Jacky's advice will probably work, though.

Kick him in the beginning, and at the end if you can, during the running segments. It actually slows him down, but just barely.

Hack the game so Tiny has a giant bug swatter. The beetle needs to die.

Jump at the end of the slide. I recently played it, and I know it's frustrating.
