Any Competitive Super Smash Bros. Players?

I've been playing Melee and Project M competitively for about 4 months and have grown leaps and bounds in my skill level. I practice twice a week with some of the best players in Florida. It's a ton of fun, and the Smash community is so awesome; I've made tons of awesome buddies while playing Smash.

I was wondering if any other RWP'ers play PM and/or Melee at a competitve level, and if so, share your stories from Friendlies, Smashfests, Tournaments, and more.

To quote one smasher in our group,

"Playing Smash is kind of like having sex; It brings people together on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level."

As ridiculous as it sounds, there's some truth to this statement, as I can say from personal experience.

Yee. I used to frequent Melee locals / weeklies before school, work and family business pretty much rekt my schedule. I want to go back to tournaments sometime soon. I still support my friends that are still in the scene nonetheless and watch constantly. I've been following the FGC scene since around 2006. Smash and Street Fighter are pretty much what propelled me into everything.

Edit: Yes I do play PM and it's fun af to watch. I've never played a PM tournament before though. Someday possibly!

my friends and i generally play no items/neutral stages, all that jazz, but i haven't been to a tournament yet

unless you count that rwp tournament we had months ago, where yiffgurl utterly destroyed me
