During the Fungi Forest Boss Fight, the Dragon Fly thing sends a huge wall of fire at you after you hit him for the third time. Is there any way to avoid this attack?

Yes, run to the edge of the map, and hang onto the ledge.

I read in the strategy guide that if you do one of those big ole back flip thingies at exactly the right time you could get over it, but I never got this to work. I might just be bad at it though.

My strategy guide (Prima) says that there's no way at all of avoiding it but I had heard that hanging on to the ledge would help. I haven't had the courage to try such a stunt, but would you have enough time to run toward the barrel and throw it at the Dogadon afterwards? I tried the backflip a few times to no results whatsoever.

Strange, I always thought hanging on the ledge was the official way to do it.

For me i never get hit by his fireballs so i dont need to avoid the firewall.But hanging form the ledge works,most people dont because they think they will fall down to the lava and die.

Hmmmmmm, I didn't have a need to dodge the firewall either, though I did try doing a normal jump. (hint: Don't do a normal jump, it doesn't work....)

If I remember right, though it's been a few months, if you hit him with the barrel before the attack reaches you, the wall disappears, but I might be wrong, so don't take my word on it.

I backflipped. I think that works, but I haven't played in a while.Never tried to hang off the ledge.

But no matter, as even if you do get hit, you'll still have enough Life to beat him.

Backlipping WON'T work. I looked at the apex of DK's vault, and it nowhere near surpasses the firestorm's apex.

Not sure about hanging off the ledge, though... wouldn't that singe DK's filanges? ;D

It's chunky and I'm pretty sure that everytime I play that boss I've hung off the edge to avoid that attack.

Well I haven't found a way to aviod the Flamewall but I never tryed the Hong off a cliff thing yet. I usaully just get brun and it works just as well. Also, how can you hit him before he fires his attack? There is a cutseance show him firing that attack.

You can't. Right after the cutscene is a half-second pause, which is nowhere NEAR enough time for the TNT Barrel to make contact with the Dogadon.

And, yeah, sorry, I forgot it was Chunky. BTW, anyone else think that the opening cutscene on this boss is hysterical?
