Rare licenses Path Engine/Two new 360 titles
According to the September 24th update at PathEngine.com, Rare has purchased a license for the PathEngine software for two currently unannounced Xbox 360 titles.
What could they be? Sequels to existing franchises (Kameo/Perfect Dark Zero)? Revivals to old franchises (Killer Instinct/Battletoads)? Or maybe even a couple of new IPs? Discuss/Speculate.

Interesting. They already have two small teams looking at Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero sequels.

On-Topic: Hmm... I wouldn't mind seeing a revival of Killer Instinct (though they said they aren't developing it, though with Rare...)

ARG! I saw this on the 4th and didn't have time to post until just now! Ah, well, you beat me to it Hylian, fair and square; nice to see ya again.
anyway, according to MundoRare, the PathEngine is used to help AI in 3d environments. So let's look at their franchises: Banjo-Kazooie: already announced Viva Pinata: DS version being developed Killer Instinct: Rumors have been circling around for a while, but the engine is for AI in 3d environments, so unless KI3 becomes a 3d fighter, I doubt this is one of the titles Conker: Fans have been begging for a sequel for a while, now. Here's to having more adult humor and less potty humor. Perfect Dark: PDZ sold over a million copies, rumors have also been floating around, and one of the things reviewers pointed out was the AI stupidity. I don’t want another shooter for the 360, but I want rare to have a chance to redeem themselves as FPS developers Kameo: according to VGcharts, it’s sold 510,000 copies. Let’s hope if this is one of the two titles, it’s gonna be longer Jet Force Gemini: People have been requesting a sequel for what seems to be forever. Rare, make this and put Gears to shame Blast Corps: sold horribly, but was critically acclaimed. Maybe it’s an XBLA sequel… Battletoads: Not sure why Battletoads would become a 3d brawler, since 2d is better, right now Grabbed by the Ghoulies: …Oh. My. God. If they made a sequel, I would buy another 360 just in case my current one RRoD on me on launch day, I kid you not It could be a new IP, but for Rare to really sell right now, they're gonna need to rely on their original fans, i.e. us. Although I already have a 360, if I didn't have one, I'm pretty sure I'd buy one to buy KI3 for GBtG2 without even giving a second thought. If it's a new IP, I'd have to wait awhile to see if it's a Killer App or not. Quote:

The only game that i would care about is banjo kazooie. No interest in the other games. Who else thinks conker is just a skunny rip off?

I'm fairly sure they mentioned Kameo and PD:Zero sequels on Scribes. Anyways, Rare can use any help they can get at this point, especially with PD:Zero.

I hope that PDZ sequel isn't another prequel. (Perfect Dark -1) I also hope it has all those multiplayer options on the N64. That would be win.

The way I see it, if it is for smarter AI, it could be another VP (god no..) Kameo (possible), Banjo (same with Kameo), or a shooter

I've never heard of the path engine, but for what I can tell, It would be utilized in Kameo or a new Conker game,
and for perfect dark, They should actually FINISH the game, and make it deeper.

Yeah perfect dark. Is most of the shoorters I've played, the AI is so dumb you can walk straight, shoot, and they won't shoot...
