Don't you like how the one woman hasn't played the game, yet she "completely" understands how the game effects people.

Dude, she just got totally owned.

Ill sum it up for you.

Woman: This game has full graphic nudity and is disgusting and bad for the little kiddies.

Man: The only nudity is the side of an alien boob. Have you ever played mass effect?

Woman: Tehehe. No.

I mean, seriously, if someone wanted to see some full graphic nudity are they going to buy a xbox 360 and game for $500 or whatever, or will they just turn on the Internet and get as much hardcore as they want?

I saw this too. This kind of thing really gets my goat, especially as Mass Effect is such an awesome game (it's fair to say that about 75 % of Rare was totally hooked on the game in the run-up to Xmas).

If you care about matters such as these, go check out http://www.gamepolitics.com, but please be respectful and employ common sense before posting a comment there.

The whole trying to compare mass effect to looking at a playboy was completely stupid too.

This is the kind of thing that really gets my blood going. Kudos to Geoff for standing up to them, and making great counter-points! (even if the hosts/interviewers didn't agree.)

True, I wish they would keep their noses out of things they have no clue about.

I've learned to just kind of ignore the bad rep that people who don't know enough about something give about games and other things. When you have all the various lesser known hobbies that I have, you find out that if people stereotype it unintentionally.

For example: firearms. A lot of people fear firearms because of their limited knowledge with them. Some people only know only this about them: They have the ability to kill. That's what brings on their fear for them. But they can be used for protection, hobby, personal defense, a conversation piece, hunting and other things that don't immediately come to mind.

Now let's apply this to what the reporter knows.

Most likely it went as follows: The news anchor or whoever writes the reporting notes was commissioned a report on a game that was recently released from that one new console from Microsoft that contains a sex scene involving nudity. Now if the person who had wrote this had played the game, they'd have known otherwise. But as we can see this was not the case, so they wrote the story as they knew it. They didn't know this was a non-interactive cutscene that's part of a sidequest with little in-game reward, and that it's not a major part in the game.

Now personally I think that sex scene was completely unneeded, and that they should have made the story less cliché, a little more deep expansive, and not so sudden. Three barely flirty conversations between an uncharismatic man (I don't know if the female's voice was actually charismatic, but the voice acting for Adrian Shepard was about as flat as a 2 day old Coke) and 100 year old blue hued virgin isn't going to make a deep love connection as far as I know.

I'm sure you've all seen the report on 4chan where they call them Domestic Terrorists who plan to blow up yellow vans on their "Secret Websites"?

What the **** are these people smoking? They think it should get an AO rating? I can prove on so many levels how much BS that is. First off, both God of War games showed more nudity than that, and got an M rating; no questions asked, no complaints. Secondly, AO is the video game equivalent of an NC-17 movie, and the way I figure, something being rated AO should have everything needed in a movie for an NC-17 rating. The side of a boob will never get an NC-17 rating, and as such, shouldn't get an AO.
