Super Mario RPG fans

Something interesting I found. Seems someone has made a patch for the game to increase enemy stats making the game harder, haven't tried it yet, but it's here if someone wants to.

http://smrpgsecrets.tripod.com//hacks.html

You want the first one called, "Enemy stats upgrade hack" I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure how to apply it.

you could give this a shot too, though I haven't tried it either

They're not ROMs, they're IPS patches. Which are pretty much the legal way to distribute ROM Hacks.

You need an IPS patcher, like Lunar IPS, to apply them to an unmodified SMRPG ROM in order to play the hacks. Someone's actually making a complete editor for Mario RPG, which is gonna be entirely awesome.

I've been to this guy's site before. I'm still waiting for the Luigi patch to be finished .

On the topic of the harder game patch, I have no real desire to play Mario RPG on a harder difficulty.

SMRPG already has a very good level of difficulty. I think that's one of the reasons why I've come back to the game time and time again. For those of us who've played it to death, this is a cool patch. When everything's harder, you have to use more strategy -- be more careful.

Yeah, the only downside, it being an SNES game, the max value things can go to is 256, which means the games a lot harder up until about nimbus land, then it slowly slides back towards normal difficulty, but even still, it's fine to be able to have a different challenge then normal.
