I'm not sure who headed the music in the Banjo-Kazooie series or DK64, but the man who was in charge of musical direction on the DKC series was David E. Wise. I'm not sure how to contact him though.

Speaking of Musical Masterpiece, Nobuo Uematsu is also a video game music genious. He's the one who did all the Final Fantasy, or rather, did, they don't use him anymore, really.

well, besides the entire BK soundtrack (highlights being Mad Monsters Mansion, Gobi's Valley and Rusty Bucket Bay), the song for K.Rool in DKC (the last fight, on the ship) makes me ****ing cry, its brilliant!!!

sooner or later, me band will be playing a metal version to that song... stay tuned to this mad kid from brasil and is weird band!

Koji Kondo is also the mastermind for Yoshi's Island for the SNES. Dear God, that guy's a genius!
