The overview of the first chapter:
Singing Smoke Nearly fifty years ago, there lived a very wealthy family in the depths of the Sacrifice Wilderness, far beyond the Market of Sables. Allen German Valdez, and his wife Aurora Helene Juarez. Alas, not everything was the best for this family. Although they had boatloads of money under to call their own, they lacked one vital thing. Health. Aurora of the family fell gravely ill, and was bedridden for many months. Allen was striving to keep her alive, and get her back to good health. Nothing could help her. The mansion of this family was falling in complete disrepair, due to the illness. Until one night, it felt like nothing could be worse. Allen was reading a newspaper, and was just ready to light a cigar, when it dropped onto the floor and suddenly the entire mansion was up in flames. When he realized what had happened, he frantically tried to get his wife out of the house. When he got her to safety, her illness became the best of her, and she passed away in her husband's arms. The bereavement was unbearable, Allen managed to get through the pain. Legend has it that Allen German Valdez is still locked up in the mansion somewhere. It is also said that the spirit of Aurora Helene Juarez's has lingered here for all of these years, and people have heard her singing, as the form of smoke.
