Family Guy?

What are your thoughts and/or opinions about this unique television show? I find some things absolutely hilarious and original, but some things I find offensive.

For example, in that episode where Peter was a comedian for kids who were terminally ill, that wasn't funny. It was in very poor taste in my opinion.

However, I can say there are certain aspects of the show I do enjoy.

What do you think?

How is it unique? It's a half hour of stupid fart jokes.

Most jokes from Family Guy aren't well thought out, but they're not really written by manatees either. There is some funny aspects to the show. Sure, they use offensive humor, and those who ARE offended have a right to be. But I for one find Family Guy's kind of humour to be hilarious. Seth MacFarlane is a clever man.

Hence the reason why they issue a Parental Guidance message after each commercial.

Seth McFarlane is a clever man, but he doesn't always use his intelligence in a healthy manner. He clearly doesn't take into consideration that there are some people who find his work offensive. My friend doesn't even watch the show anymore because he thinks the jokes are random. And some of them aren't even jokes, they're mere stupidity.

I don't care what anyone says I love Family Guy. My favorite show on TV. It's got too much black comedy but I enjoy it for that.

But there are plenty of people out there who are opposed to the black comedy. A TV show doesn't need to have offensive material to be funny, let alone popular. I happen to enjoy Variety shows from the 50's and 60's. And do they have offensive material? Absolutely not.

Family Guy has it's moments, but it's gone downhill since it returned to network TV. I hardly watch it anymore.

Hence why I'm watching more of the Simpsons, and slightly less of Family Guy. Both shows have their moments, but the Simpsons has run 19 or 20 seasons, and it still has fresh material. Family Guy on the other hand has its moments, but they can turn stale real quick. It all on how the show is delivered.

I personally like Family Guy, but I guess that if there's something to dislike about it, is that it will do anything, anything at all, to squeeze in a quick laugh, and it's not too good for any kind of lowbrow, unfunny humor. It's pretty much desperate to be a continues stream of laughter and in the process forgets to edit out the things that don't work. All in all, though, it's made me laugh pretty hard, and I wholeheartedly approve.

Sure, they have some real hilarious stuff, but, they have a lot of things that are just plain disgusting. Of course, Family Guy mocks so many things in society, and often times, something offensive on that show, most likely happened for real, and their making a joke out of it; you have to keep that in mind.
