Post Question for Rare Employees...

I was wondering since Nintendo is releasing N64 games on the Virtual Console for the Wii, does that mean Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie are going to be released on VC or do they need yours and Microsoft's permission.

I sure hope they can. I, of course, am not paying for LIVE. I already pay for a internet connection, why pay to get online again?

VC, because it was released on the N64 and the Live doesn't have a N64 emulator, so they would need to program one or re-program the Banjo games.

actually, that post was complete nonsense. The games are more likely to appear on xbox live, considering now Rare works for microsoft, AND the sequel to the 2 is being released on 360. Nintendo does not hold the rights to Banjo Kazooie regardless of the fact that it was released on n64, and the fact that your talking about emulators here shows that you know nothing about the process of releasing a game on live arcade.

the first 2 sonic the hedgehog games are on there, i'm aware that the wii virtual console version are just console emulations, but xbox live arcade isnt that cheap, the games are redesigned for the xbox and given xbox live functionality, sonic 2 can actually be played multiplayer over xbox live now.

so to answer your question better, xbox live arcade is more likely, rare holds the rights of the Banjo IP, and they are tied exclusively to Microsoft for console releases, also, considering the fact that for a few months a xbox live arcade port of Goldeneye was in the works, and NOT for virtual console, that should clear up any other false thoughts.

sorry, not trying to be a jerk, but it wont ever come out on virtual console.

An XBL version would be much better anyways rather than a VC port.

They re-program games for x-box live and give the games x-box live functionality and extra features? Wow, I should really consider getting a 360.

The LIVE Arcade doesn't emulate. They do enhancements, upping graphics, changing things and adding LIVE funcionality. It's evident you were pulling something random out and posting. Not trying to attack ya, just saying.

Oups, well, thanks for your corrections guys! Now I know what's the real deal with Live Arcade, and I'll be less stupid when I get to bed! And just forget what I wrote.

And I'm happier now, since I have only the 360 and no Wii (though I have the N64 and the originals). And since there's possibility for more content...

I wish they'd strike a deal to do it for both...

But we know that won't be happening.

Yeah that would be good. Sadly Nintendo and microsoft will never want to make such a deal

I think the controls would be horrible.
