I'm sure we're all pleased as pie to know the original game is returning to the X-box live arcade. In light of this development and the new BK:N&B trailers, I must say my opinion has changed. Nuts & Bolts looks to be a very fun experience which could be greater than I could have imagined. There's plenty of platforming in the game done on foot, and considering the sheer sizes of the worlds I'll find traveling in a vehicle to be faster and fun. And for those who basically wanted an HD version of B-K, well, we got something close to that as well. Considering it'll be an X-box live game don't expect the remake to be on the level of Conker: Live and Reloaded. There are a few things which I'm sure are already being discussed which would make the arcade release prettier than the original but might not take too much time:
1. Eliminate the proximity-based visibility of "active objects" in the game and just make every object visible from any distance, since framerate is no longer an issue. 2. Change the model of Banjo from the normal decimated one to the smoothed version seen in the intro concert. 3. If higher-res sources for the original textures are still around, use those to replace the max 64x64 ones seen in the game. 4. Change models of eggs, notes and other sprites into 3-D. 5. Atmospheric effects of dust, haze, etc might look good and may be easy to implement. 6. Possibly add the frog-spell minigame that was cut out of the original for time as a bonus feature. 7. Possibly add fur and feather particles to the appropriate characters. In the same vein, have grass instead of just a grass texture. 8. Change the samples of the original MIDIs with more realistic orchestrated samples. 9. Add the water effects that make it look more realistic. Of course, to drastically improve the textures without improving the polygons might look odd, so who knows what is deemed "too far". A good example of a game changed into a high-res version is the Duke Nukem High Res pack. Looks pretty awesome. If B-K sells well on the arcade, I hope Tooie can join in, those games are like two peas in a pod, but Nuts & Bolts is going to be like EXTREME ROCKIN' CHILI BEANS!

These are some very good possibilities. I dunno about orchestrating the musuc (It seems like it would be too much work; and I like the MIDIs
). And getting rid of the "active objects" would be awesome; it was a brillient idea to make it smoother on the N64, but it is kinda annoying and unnecessary on the 360. I would really like to see the frog-spell/Tooty game as well, but we already got STOP 'N' SWOP in a new form, so, what more could we ask for? ![]() |

All of those are easily done except the music.
It does cost alot to get an orchestra to play. I think it will just be higher quality midi

I personally really want Kazooie's blue eggs to fire STRAIGHT AHEAD... they veer off to the left, and it is very annoying...

Definite on the increase draw distance - TTC, while amazing it loads, is difficult to find the notes.

Hmm, changing textures to Hi-res reminds me of this.
(May take awhile to load) I know the person changed Ocarina of Time textures to Hi-res, (and cel shaded if you click) but maybe imagine those textures in Banjo to get an idea? If Rare did something like that, B-K will look very very nice. ![]()

Just not to the extent of Nuts & Bolts... I'd like them to keep some of the 'blocky looking graphics', albeit smoothed.
Don't want them to change the game too much, some smoother graphics and a tweaked ending for the SnS busines is all I personally feel is needed. ![]() |

Make the graphics good enough to where their mouths move better with the text and they don't have 'brick' hands (They have seperate fingers). And make actual grass and stuff.

I agree with the poster above me regarding block hands. I'd like the B-K model from Tooie as well, Kazooie seemed more well-modeled.
