The Ancient Astronaut theory.
While I've had interest in it in the past, watching Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull brought my interest in it back (lol@surviving a nuclear explosion in a fridge, regardless of it being lead-lined or not). Basically the Ancient Astronaut theory is that all the ancient civilizations (Sumeria, Mayans, Egyptians, etc.) were visited by aliens, and that they influenced religion, gave them knowledge, and gave them technology. However, instead of figuring out that they were people from other planets (understandable at the time, as they hardly knew what space itself was) they interperated them as gods and worshipped them. Thoughts?

Why wouldn't they come down for today's civilisation, I wonder?

It's an interesting story, but nothing more than that.

I thought the ancient astronaut theory was about ancient man being able to visit space.
Either way, your version is fascinating too. It's a distinct possibility, I'd say.

We'll, if we look at the Bible, realize that a lot of it is over-exaggerated to begin with, then yeah, it could make a little sense.

You know, about all this ppl thinking the aliens was gods and stuff, I once read a UFO book that said some guy saw Jeebus and teh virgin mary come out of a UFO. I wonder if if these two stories are related.

I wouldn't look too deeply into that. People like to make crazy claims like this for attention.

More like an AstroNOT theory, amirite?
But yeah, I doubt it. Like, I'm going to give it a 1% chance of being true.

I do believe that aliens exist (hey where here, why not other intelligent life) but the fact that they would come here is an interesting question.
Look at the ancient Egyptians, specifically Nefertiti she has many carvings and paintings with a elongated head, most scientific sheeples say its due to some genetic deformation...i say, fornication with aliens! another good example: Peru, they had elongated heads too! and evidence of egyptian artifacts, but wait! there not supposed to be in contact for a few thousand years... also, the Nazca lines, a set of animal and geometrical lines engraved onto the ground which extend for miles. Engraving these lines would require a view from above to do them correctly, yet they were not supposed to have aircraft back then. So how did they do it?? and the bunch of baloney that the Egyptologist(s) give us about the pyramids. Like they would build a massive structure for 40 years just to stuff a dead body in it, doesnt seem very logical for an advanced race. In Mexico the group of pyramids including the pyramid of the sun are known by people in Mexico by legend as "Place where the gods touch the earth." In all evidence this probably means where the aliens landed. Where they touched the Earth... Think about it, the pyramids are large stone monuments in Mexico with steps going down the sides. What better purpose for the steps than to allow the aliens to climb down the pyramids to the ground. That is the most logical reason for their construction. And to think that primitive people could build something so incredible is well not likely in all logic. so, yeah. i believe in aliens... whether they visit here or not is up for discussion. |

.On a serious note, I don't doubt the possibility of the theory. I saw something in a biology class once that part two or three (I forget) of our genome is split or something weird. It has been a long time, so I don't remember the actual issue. The point was that no other creature in existence has split genomes due to evolution, so some people think it must have been done by advanced science; thus the theory that aliens came down and "quick-evolved" primates. |

We watched a movie in my World History class, and it showed various cave paintings from all over the world. One thing the paintings had in common were alien looking drawings or crafts, people, and other things.
Tis interesting. ![]()
