Help with the Trumpet
Hey, I'm just starting to play trumpet and right now I'm learning the fingerings. Are the fingerings for E and A the same? (First valve) If I were doing a scale, wouldn't that just sound like the same notes repeating and not rising in pitch or anything, because I've noticed that some other notes are the same. Also, can anyone help me with buzzing? I can't seem to do it properly.

yes the fingerings for E and A are the same for the first octive (1st and 2nd I beleive) But no they shouldent sound the same. Brass Instriments are unique as you can hit several notes with the same fingering. Your Trumpits E should sound like a D on the Piano while the A should sounds like the Pianos G.

so would i have to do something with my mouth to change the pitch, or just play it normally?

You tighten your embouchure for higher notes. You loosen it for lower ones.
That's how all brass instruments work.

You vibrate your lips faster for higher pitched notes. That's how I did it.
