GTAIV: Lost and the Damned

DLC done the right way.

For those that don't know. Here's the scoop.

It looks awesome.

I liked GTA 4, even though I thought it was the most over-rated game of this generation. This DLC does look interesting. It says it has 12-20hrs of gameplay so it is definitely worth the money. But still I am looking more foward to Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage.

I think it's only new buildings open up not actual land.

I think this looks really promising, although I really wish they would confirm the weapons/cars/mechanics and especially buildings for online. New online co-op missions like Hangman's NOOSE or Deal Breaker would be cool too. Oh and $20 (£12-15?)? What a deal for 12-20hrs + multiplayer.

Best DLC ever. Unlike that crap Castle Crashers pack, and the rest of the bull on the marketplace, like paying to unlock everything in Skate 2.

From the top of my head, the only companies who do DLC right are Harmonix, Rockstar (although this is their first venture), and Bethesda (minus the horse armor).

Kudos to Rockstar for the free GTA theme and gamerpics, as well.

Bungie?

I think ODST will be comparable to L&D in terms of success, and the Mythic map pack could revive Halo hopefully and get everyone off CoD5

Right, slap Bungie on the list, I forgot.

The initial prices for their packs seem a bit steep, but I'm sure it's worth it, and they have a habit of making them free after a time (a long time).

I definitely have a lot of respect for them.

Yeah, I got my 360 late into Halo 3 and Gears 1's lifespan so I got to snap some map packs for free, I've been telling myself "DO NOT BUY LEGENDARY, THEY'LL BE FREE IN A MONTH OR TWO" for about half a year now, when Mythic comes out (Free with Halo Wars LE ) hopefully leg. will be free and I'll be well suited.

DLC will be the difference between good game - awesome game in the future I'd say.

If they add that two people on a motorcycle, the passenger with a shotgun, mechanic then multiplayer just became the greatest thing ever.

I have to say that L&D is not going to be enough to bring me back to Liberty City. Ultimately I look on GTAIV in a bad light in comparison to the rest of the series because by the end of the game I didn't give a damn about Nikko. I didn't care what he did as he ultimately was just a thug that I loathed playing and that ruined the experience for me. The story was hyped so highly and yet delivered so little for me. So much so I sold my copy.

The city is unfortunately tainted for me and I think I'll head back to Vice City in preference from now on.

I kinda half agree with you. GTA 4 was a step-forward for the series but at the same time a step back. For me it was a step back because after San Andreas, I was expecting them to improve on that formula but instead they took alot of it away for realism really. The story was really over-rated and actually quite mediocre, I didn't really enjoy it at all. The gameplay I guess was pretty solid, there is a lot of fun to be had there. The graphics are excellent, if a little gloomy. But overall, GTA 4 just didn't have the impact for me that San Andreas had when it was released.
