How to Post On Our Forums

Welcome new members! Nice of you to join our happy Rare Witch Project Family! Well, unfortuantly, lately, it hasn't been so nice. So that's why I'm here to tell you how to survive at our forums. Here's a good starting list.

1. Post well and often.
2. Use correct grammar and spelling if possible.
3. No "AIM" talk. (In other words, "LOL, OMFG, ROFL!11"
4. Please use the search button at the top of the screen before you make a topic. If there is already a topic about it, post in that one.
5. Don't make up fake cheats just to impress us. It won't work.
6. Don't post one-liners. Make your posts have something that people want to read.
7. If your post gives away spoilers to a game/ movie, please use the spoiler tag when you post. [spoiler]
8. Turn off CAPS LOCK.
9. While debating is fine, we don't really enjoy flaming other people for their ideas.
10. If you are going to post something of a sexual nature, please warn us beforewe click the link. "NSFW" is an acceptable warning.
11. No spamming. (Spamming includes obsessively posting site links.)
12. Please do not make extremely long signatures.
13. You can not post ROMs or other illegal programs on this site. If you need a certain ROM, don't make a topic. Private message someone about it.
14. If you have a problem with somebody else on the forums, keep it out of the topics, please.
15. Do not double post! Please just use the edit button.
16. No advertising in topics, you can put your website in your signature.
17. You must also understand that if you violate these rules you are subject to a banning.

Great idea, Andre! Hopefully, this will help to fix up the RWP a bit...I hope.

I especially think people should pay attention to numbers 9 and 15. Nobody's out to start a war here, guys! If you have a problem, send a PM rather than turning a topic into a warzone. Finally, please respect your fellow members! Don't put others down if they did nothing to you or anyone else!

Might I also add that if what someone says upsets you in some way, try not to get pissy about it. Before you post, don't just count to ten, wait an hour... it's a forum, you don't need to reply straight away. Go listen to relaxing music, do a crossword and come back in a couple of hours, politely PM the person and make sure that some misunderstanding hasn't happened.

I'd like to add that although double posting isn't a terrible thing, it can get annoying if you do it to correct a error in a previous post. If you spot an error please edit your post. If you're not sure how to do that look at the bottom of you post on the right-hand side. You'll notice an edit button. *wink wink* Saves the mods some grief and it'll help save space also. Thank you.

Anyway, good rules. (Although "LOL" is not exactly AIM-speak...I always considered it part of normal Internet language.

I've used lol before on numerous occasions, .

I suggest we add "No advertising in topics" because that got painfully annoying painfully fast. I'd be reading "What is your favorite BT level?" and come across a post "Hey guys no one is reading my fan fic go check it out!". I don't want to go check it out. They don't need to post that there.

Hmm...I'm debating whether or not I should actually move this to Anything Goes. On one hand, that seems to be the most popular forum, which means this topic would get more views. On the other hand, this IS the new member forum...

So I'll just copy it to Anything Goes and stick both topics.

Honestly Icy, I'd suggest making this a sticky in every section of the RWP (or at least in the more active sections, such as BK discussion and the Creative Cavern.).
