Biggest Gaming Disappointments

Everyone has had a game that didn't live up to their expectations. Something that looked great on paper, had you pumped up until release, following every interview and downloading every trailer... but fell short.

What game were you really excited or hopeful for that just didn't fulfill your expectations?

Mine... The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Sonic the Hedgehog (anything after Sonic and Knuckles outside Rush really...), and the Wii.

Jak 2 was a big dissapointment. I really liked the original but it went downhill after that. Tomb raider legend was also a big dissapointment. The new tomb raider is good but really I liked the first four but after that it really got worse. Anniversary was a less good remake of the original tomb raider but it was still excellent.

Mirror's Edge. Great concept, but the controls are crappy and unresponsive. And it looks like they made the cutscenes last minute.

In before NaB.

I would have to say Resident evil 5...
I just didn't find it like the other games:Survival horror.

Fable 2. Piece of crap game. Rushed, and lied about. The parts that weren't cut weren't even well put together, and there was boatload of bugs.

Empire: Total War. I'm not sure why I don't like it, but it seems just so. I keep giving it another chance, but I can't do it.

What else...oh...Storm of Zehir. Worst expansion for a game I've ever played.

Super Mario RPG. I kept hearing aboit how wonderful it was. When I finally got to play it on the VC, I found it to be a very boring game.

The Wii and every major title on it except for Metroid. Also, Phantom Hourglass was an awful abomination.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Now, this wasn't a bad game by any means, but I'll have you know I hyped this game off the ****ing wall, and it's entirely my fault for it being a collosal dissapointment. From the day the game was announced to it's release date, I watched at least one or two trailers of it a day and studied them, looking for any possible clues as to hidden parts of the game. I made up story ideas and speculated on what it could possibly be before the actual story was revield, and I pretty much made this game my life. I played it non-stop till I beat it, and in the end it turned out to be.... an okay game. All those hours wasted, all that time I could of been spending with family and friends were wasted on a... good game. A passable experience. If it was bad, okay, it would of been hilarious and I'd be always be saying "Haha remember how much of a huge bomb Twilight Princess was? Hilarious." But nope, I can't even ****ing bitch about it because it was so.... okay. It was just an okay experience.

I agree with the "Dead Rising serve-bot" dude.
Twight princess was a great game, but I expected a GREATER game.

I also agree with twilight princess.

Also, Super Paper Mario. The first two were great, but Super Paper Mario was too short and got to be too repetitive after a while.

Twilight Princess was great. If they hadn't made it, I might've suicided by now,

...unless Midna wasn't in it. Then I would've suicided, anyways.

I wish they kept the turn based gameplay.

That's why you don't listen to hype.
