FFXIII Demo
I watched the whole thing on youtube. It looks good. The bosses seem to be a very short distance from each other, unless I'm mistaken and the battles with the different (yet amazing) music weren't bosses. I have no idea what's going on in terms of the story but it starts off with a bang. I estimate that most, if not all of the footage seen in the trailers is from the beginning of the game. The battle system looks fun, if old-fashioned. "Lightning" is cool. "Snow" is clearly a racist term for the white dude who looks like a burner.
Points to make: I've read up on two things. One, you DO get full control over all of your characters, despite what's in the demo. Two, there is a victory fanfare in the final product, removed because it conflicted with the demo's mood. (uh... dramatic, I guess?) Discuss.

It looks promising, I guess. There are just going to be 2 versions only, right? I loved XII and hopefully I'll love this one too, but then again, I love all the FF games I've played.

While I was out investigating, I found a new test element.It's never been used for human testing because, apparently, it causes heart failure.It doesn't say anything about lump of coal failure,though, so you should be fine.

I loved it. It was great to watch. I'm also still trying to find a good quality version of the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer that comes with the DVD.

I hate the character design, I kind of always have, and its a shame they are going back to a turn-based battle system, especially when the gambit system in FF12 was such a fresh, new take on the genre.
Bummer to see them going back to a twist on the age-old formula.

I'm indifferent towards the character design. The only characters I like to have good design are the main protagonists and antagonists. And Lightning, Snow and the 'fro guy look all right. Another thing that really stood out was the music in the demo. I think the guy who composed XII is composing this, although it sounds as if it's composed by the guy who did the older games (7-10). That's a good thing. The boss battle theme in particular is great.

Turn based or not, it still looks great. Versus looks like the main character cuts himself when you're not looking, just like Cloud. And lately many of the recent final fantasy girls look like Yuna...O.O
