Smile Perfect Dark now more popular than Banjo?

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3462

I know that the votes are skewed due to the inclusion of Pokemon and Zelda: MM on the poll, but PD still got a few thousand votes more than Banjo did. Do you think BK N&B hurt Banjo, allowing PD to take the lead, or do you think the shooter finally just gained popularity?

Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow got first place and Banjo-Kazooie got last due to NAB. Not sure about that, but Pokemon is part of my childhood. :S

I always assumed Perfect Dark was more popular than Banjo anyway, although I'd never really thought about it before, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye have both always seemed hugely more popular than Banjo. I certainly like the game much better than Banjo anyway and N&B didn't affect my decision of that, and I don't see why it would affect anyone elses.

A 360 game although being a sequel to the game in comparison has no relation at all to how well that game would do in comparison to another N64 game. It just doesn't make sense.

Banjo kazooie is way better than those other games. The other games are no where near as good. Not even close. Zelda majora's mask was a rather boring game. Pokemon yellow was good but not great and while perfect dark is a great game it's just no where near as good as banjo kazooie.

Like IL, I always thought PD was more popular than Banjo. Yes, Banjo was hugely popular on the N64. However, PD was just as popular. The reason it overtook Banjo in popularity was simple: Tooie. Tooie was a great game, but, along with DK64, it became a poster child (game?) for collect-a-thons, something that overshadowed the game's merits.

While PD Zero drew quite a few criticisms - especially from the hardcore PD fans - it still did quite well both critically and commercially and was able to maintain a healthy-sized player base. Nuts & Bolts, on the other hand, drew massive amounts of vitriol from fans and haters alike, was a critical but not commercial success, and was used to give credence to the claim that Rare was out of touch with its fanbase. Clearly, N&B was more damaging to its franchise's popularity than PDZ was.

I think the reasons all four were voted the way they were are that the the first-party Nintendo franchises probably have the most ardent fanbases. Perfect Dark trails, but beats BK simply because it's a FPS and FPS's are popular. BK's fanbase is smaller than the first-party Nintendo franchises' and the series doesn't belong to a currently-popular genre. I'd say the main reason BK came in as low as it did has more to do with what it's not than what it is.

I think the deciding factor for this was replay value. Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, though very fun while they last, don't have that much replay value. Collecting notes and jiggies can only be so fun.

Surprised that Pokemon is beating MM so bad. Gamefaqs usually eats up anything Zelda-related.

I think it's both. Nuts and Bolts hurt Banjo's popularity, and more people have played PD.

This means nothing. NAB isn't gonna hurt the original's popularity. If anything, it'd make people like the original more in comparison. That being said, the poll results would be totally different if it was just between Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie- Having Pokemon and Majora's Mask there would throw it off.

I do like Perfect Dark more, though.

Wait. The option on the poll was "Banjo Kazooie". Do they mean Banjo as a whole or simply Banjo Kazooie, the game? Supposing it represents the game, I don't see how Nuts & Bolts could have affected its popularity. It's like saying that, since Sonic Unleashed sucked, it affected Sonic The Hedgehog 1's popularity.
