Just get Avast, it does a good job without being annoying*
*only if you don't find the "Virus database has been updated" alert annoying

yeah, supposedly Avast is superior to AVG.
I just ditched AVG for panda. In addition to annoying stuff like the above, AVG made it impossible to do anything else while it was scanning.

just get a firewall it won't let anything in in the first place so you wont need an anti-virus. i have had good experience's with Zone alarm.
