Help would be appreciated >:
Ok so I'm posting from my Grans computer (Excuse spelling mistakes if any, I hate this keyboard...). My laptop has been rendered unusable for no real reason. It crashes whenever I try to do ANYTHING. I mean, anything makes it crash.
I have an ADVENT 5611 with 1GB RAM and 160GB Hard Drive, Intel Celeron Dual Core Processor T1600 (1.66GHz, 533 MHz, 1KB Cache). My brother said it may be something to do with MessagingApp.exe, becaust that came up saying it had stopped working once and then after it has stopped the laptop was running smoothly. Well, for 5 minutes, anyway. It just freezes up. Even when I put my mouse over anything on the desktop, it just freezes. I was trying to talk to a few RWP members over Skype last night and I couldn't. It started when I was trying to run MSN, and when changing windows, it just died. I had to turn the computer off at the power button. Ever since then, I just cannot run anything. Does anyone know a solution?

Budget laptop, bro.
Have you tried the standard stuff? System restore, boot in Safe mode...?

Similar situation with me, DB. But it loads up and all that, so it's not the same problem. And mine tells me, anyway.
My Hard Disk is corrupted, apparently. Keeps telling me to backup my files. Too bad I just fixed it after the last time it broke, so I don't have anything much to backup. I suggest system restore and all that like I Hate Cats, though. |

I'm trying system restore now. How will booting in safe mode help?

Could help to see if it will even load Safe Mode, I don't know. And maybe there's a file that's preventing it to work, so you could uninstall some things and see if it helps.
I obviously don't know what I'm talking about. |

Well if there is, the problem is MessagingApp.exe.
I researched a little and I was told it could be something to do with my BITS settings. (inb4 people quote "something to do with my BITS") STFU.

Surprisingly enough, I saw your name and this topic and expected to read "Kill yourself".

Start Wndows in safe mode, and run AVG or similar free antivirus if you have it.

It could be memory, you need a good chunk for it to run.

Also, DB, how long have you been using your current install of whatever OS you're using?

6 months.
And don't worry it has fixed itself.
