NSMBW is the best Mario sidescroller since Mario 3. Get it.

If you weren't a huge fan of Brawl before, try hacking it- There's loads to check out. For example, the Brawl+ codes to make the game faster and more competitive, texture hacking, and even moveset hacking.

Neither is Mario Kart Wii because it gets boring after awhile. If you've played Mario Kart Wii already, then you've pretty much played the good parts. I played it for a day, and go back to it when people are over at my house (that's when we don't have anything better to do). The game feels like Double Dash or Mario Kart DS, except with bikes (which are cool at first).

With Brawl it really depends. I played the hell outta Melee. Went through everyone's classic, adventure and "shoot the targets" at least 3 times. I logged tons of hours playing with my friends when that game was better than anything on the PS2. I loved that game. With Brawl... it just didn't click for me. I thought the coolest part was the Subspace Embassy (spelling?) and that seemed like it was over too quickly. I thought that the new characters were cool and fun to use, but the novelty died fast. It felt like it was over way too quickly, like there should have been more in the game. The game felt like it was a roster update, some added stages, and a beefed up adventure mode. If you like that, cool, but I was left hoping for more from this game.

I cannot pass judgement on NSMBWii because I haven't played it yet. I'll probably pick it up after Christmas, so I can tell you what's wrong with it then.

To sum up: I don't think some of Nintendo's so called "Triple A" titles are so great.

On a serious note, the new Super Mario Bros Wii looks awesome..I loved the DS version so I really want to get it, but that's the only game I would ever get on the Wii in a million years, so I will never buy a Wii until they are £5 in a second hand games store.

I had just repurchased a Wii myself. I sold my last one around last Christmas, and I had to buy a new one after hearing about NSMBW. There isn't many games out that I want now, but it's a good idea to get a Wii for Zelda Wii and SMG2 alone. It has also been a pleasure reliving Brawl.

See if you can find a second-hand one, that's probably better than buying one full-price.

A lot of you are mentioning games which are just poor alternatives for better games on the other consoles (e.g. Conduit, The Grinder)...

Actually, I do agree with this. Keep this in mind when suggesting games, most of the Wii exclusive games like this are poor alternatives for better games I can already play on my 360 and ps3.

For example, the only shooter I'll play is metroid, nothing else on the wii is better than CoD, L4D, Gears, or Halo.

I'm really really thinking I might pick one up for NSMB alone, with the promise of Zelda coming....eventually. The only nice thing about having a Wii is not being bombarded with great titles, so you don't have to spend alot on games. That's also the same reason it sucks to only own a Wii.

Actually, although The Grinder is obviously Wii Left 4 Dead and won't be as good, I appreciate its originality. Rather than making it a zombie apocalypse, humans have adapted to living with the monsters. For that matter, I'm glad that they went for monsters in general instead of just zombies.

I haven't seen any mention to Super Paper Mario. I'm not sure if you played this one but I thought it was a pretty damm entertaining adventure.

You really should quickly youtube Red Steel 2 as it's a competely different game from the first one.

Don't bother with the Wii. The games have improved over the years but the $200 and the money you'd spend on games are simply not worth it.

Although you should check your local craigslist to see if you can get a good deal on one.

I thought SPM was alright, but it isn't a $50 game to me. I'd have gladly paid $20 to $30 for it though.
