Take the original Super Mario Bros. Then add Link, Bill from Contra, Simon Belmont, Mega Man and Samus as playable characters. Ok that's it. Still haven't beaten it, then again I've never beaten the original so it's not really much of a step down for me.

Played it last night, got stuck on World 2 as Mega Man and gave up, going to try it again with my Wiimote soon
Edit: hell yeah playin it with my Wiimote now and it is kicking ASS

This game is pretty awesome
 My favorite characters to play as are Megaman and Bill (he's essentially Rambo mode xDD) and I didn't really like Simon. His jump is terrible
