Computer help #9001
For some reason, both PC at home are double-clicking for no reason. I've even set the click speed to superfast so it's almost impossible to double-click, and it still double clicks, which is very frustrating on drop-down menus.
Halp?

I get that too with my mouse every now and again. I think it has something to do with battery life, but it comes and goes.

It's not a wireless mouse, and there are different mice on different computers.

Sounds like you have some Malware.
I tend to put malware into a different catagory then viruses, but they are infact a form of virus. Try running MalwareBytes AntiMalware. That antimalware program specifically picks up malware that normal and even the best virus scanners won't find. This is becuase of the way it works.

When in doubt, don't post.
Seriously.

I used to have the same problem with this Logitech mouse I got a while back. After it had been used for over a few months, everytime I clicked, it registered as a double click. If you have another mouse to test, replace the current one with another and see if it fixes it. If you don't have another mouse, and your sure your mouse settings are all correct, then I'm not sure what else to tell you besides picking up a new one.
CoolJosh might be also right in this case. I've heard situations where malware causes such things to happen. So it wouldn't hurt to try what he mentioned. Hey, you'll get a anti-malware program out of it in the long run to protect your PC. ![]()

What is funny with my mouse, if you put it on some spots on the mouse pad, the cursor drifts. It mighty be the mousepad or the mouse.
The mouse was $10 four or so years ago. ![]()
