Scott Pilgrim Vs the Internet

Well, I just finished up Volume 6 - Finest Hour and I finally am able to put the whole series into perspective. The books were like a thousand times better than the movie or the game, it really allowed me to get to know the characters well.

Major 6th book Spoilers:
Spoiler: (highlight to view)
Kim and Knives make out, Envy is explained much better in the books, Kim's roommate is owns a recording studio where Stills and the band make their first album, knives moves away, Stills is gay but forgot to mention it until the last few pages of the 6th book. Wallace and Scott stop living together. Ramona disappears for a while. Scott has a brother.

The movie left out a lot to the story. It may just be little things that seem pointless to the big picture, but it's those little things that really make me like a story. I must say that my favorite characters are Scott and Wallace. Their bickering has proven to be priceless.

So anyway, has anyone read the books? Does anyone plan to? How do you like the book? How did you like the movie? Did you see the movie? Do you want to read the books because you saw the movie? Did you read the books before the movie?

Also, play the game if you haven't already, it's a fun local multiplayer experience that will leave you confuzzled.

Yeah, the movie was badly made. It should've included all that stuff. Just like every part of the Harry Potter books shoud've been put in the films. It's not like there's no space, after all.

Read the first book, it was decent but seriously, was it trying to be edgy or something? I seriously can't tell.

In all fairness, the film's final script was finished before book 4 was finished, the shooting took place between books 5 and 6. Besides, if you took everything from the books, you'd have a fast paced 8 hour film, which would include A VEGAN RECIPE at some point and a large amount of subplots tat would put a soap opera to shame, it just wouldn't be practical.

The film was fantastic and managed to work with the half told story that it had and created a seperate continuity that still feels like Scott Pilgrim, yet something new and exciting for the fans.

I never said I dislike the movie, in fact without the movie I would have never read the books. I'm just saying a lot was left out, and I didn't even know they were filming the movie that long ago.

This.

Many people felt exhausted after seeing that movie after all that happened. If it were any longer, people would probably pass out. It could've easily been a trilogy, but what are you gonna do. I still loved it.

When it comes to a movie adaptation of a Book or Comic in this case. I don't expect the entire plot points to be made in the movie, i still think they did a good job of keeping true to the comics for probably the first half, the second half deviated from the plot slightly and you never really got to see Scott and Ramona as a couple, and the minor character plot lines but what do you expect? For a hour and a half we got or whatever it was, each and every second was worth viewing i didn't think the movie dragged on and my attention didn't wane.

After I saw the movie trailer here, I rented out the first 5 books and then bought the 6th one when it came out. They were great.

...still haven't seen the movie though.

They get alot better around the 3rd book and past.

The more you stick with it the better it gets, they're not long books anyway.

Want Scott Pilgrim Animation? Let's do something about it...

Quote:
Recently, Adult Swim posted a few comments from this thread in an on-air bump, saying nothing but "Hmmmm...". I might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but I think it's safe to say that more posts in this thread = greater chance of a series happening. (Unless you know of a better, more direct way of getting this across to 'the man' - in which case, lemme know!)

And, honestly, I can't think of anything I want more - especially if Titmouse continues to produce the series. Would also be nice to see the series cover things not covered in the graphic novels (like Ramona's brother, Gideon's other relationships and maybe extended back-stories for the Evil Exes), but just anything would be awesome.
People on the Scott Dot Ning forums are talking about this.

http://scottpilgrim.ning.com/forum/t...tion?id=972072

Go to the thread that the post in this link suggests. Basically someone pitched the idea for a SP show on the Adult Swim forums, and Adult Swim responded (which I guess they don't normally do) with "Hmm.."
