So I finally watched Toy Story 3 * unmarked spoilers within*

I'm being completely serious. None of the spoilers in this thread will be marked as I can't read spoilers on my phone. If you don't want the movie spoiled for you, just press back.

Why did everyone say it was so sad? Seriously, it was a great movie, sure, but sad and depressing? Hardly. Sure, it was sad that Andy gave everyone away, but...how is that sad? I guess because I've had the exact same experience. Only real difference is that my "Woody" stayed with me while all of my other toys went to my nephews' (though my nephews are the equivelant to the Caterpiller Room). It's strange. I don't know. Great movie though. Glad Lotso got what he had coming. This thread is pretty much saying "What was so sad about Toy Story 3?"

I think it was sad, but it was the kind of 'happy-sad' that doesn't leave you feeling bad afterward . I also loved the movie, and it was great that everyone had the same voices. I would have liked to see Andy's other toys that were sold or given away years ago at the daycare though, it would have been a nice little extra.

I'd also like to see at least a little extra with the new adventures of all the toys in the style of the beginning of the movie. That'd be awesome.

I didn't find it very sad either. Also, I agree with you about the new toys adventures.

The only real sad part was when they gave up and held hands while they were slowly descending to their deaths. Other than that, I really enjoyed it.

The thing that made me cry wasn't the Toys descending to their deaths, it wasn't them moving onto a new home. It was Andy leaving home. When I saw it at the cinema, I knew that in just over a month, I was going to go through the same thing and thinking about that made me upset. I'd grown up, just like he had, and when Andys mum is saying goodbye, I heard it in my own parents voice. I think if it has come out last year or next year, I wouldn't have been fussed, it had just been timed right.

I can't explain it too well, but it was sad seeing Andy part ways with his best friends.

It was the combination of these events that got me to tears. I still have a couple of years until I'm 18, but 2 years can fly by fast.

My mom was absolutley balling her eyes out when Andy's Mom was crying since my brother is 18 and all there is that connection.

I think that it's the fact that people can relate so much to the movies resolution because it's a very real ending unlike your typical Disney Movie. It's not all fuffy clouds and s

I think you may have missed some major details that really made it depressing.

Spoiler: (highlight to view)
Lol L33T can't read this.

No one tell him there's nothing really here.

I'll throw in a smiley for good measure

So anyone see any good movies lately?

More blank space.

Oh look another smiley.

Considering all that it was quite depressing.

That was the most depressing scene, Kee-go.

It wasn't sad at all. I thought it was emotionally satisfying.

The movie in general was great, a nice emotional... reawakening, if you will.

You can look at spoilers on your iPhone, (I'm assuming that's what you have), just copy and paste the spoiler box where you can put text (I use the notes section).

The scene where...
Spoiler: (highlight to view)
...Andy finally gave away his toys was moving...
But the most emotional scene for me was when...
Spoiler: (highlight to view)
...the toys were facing their demise at the incinerator. For a brief moment, I thought they were actually going to die! When they all held hands and accepted their fate, I thought it was a powerful moment.
