yes i have looked on the wiki, and yes i know that this is not a support site, but i thought i would ask you guys anyway.
i downloaded the software for it, and i changed the settings for the server to have the ip and stuff, but when i type it into the minecraft multiplayer box, it does not connect. i know i am doing something wrong, anyone know what?

Minecraft isn't in Alpha anymore, and you need to forward port 25565 on your router.

I have a beta server if you wanted to join. If not; ask Sekna. He helped me out alot setting up my own server.

by alpha, i meant whatever stage it is in right now. and i want to make it so that people at other houses can play on it. is that how you do that? if so (excuse my noobness) how do you forward things on your router?

thats kind of you but i am looking to make one for me and my friends at school to make a town. i think i will ask sekna, thanks!
