The Adventures of a Boy Named Ash Ketchum
I left the rwp boards a couple years ago (I wonder if anyone remembers me). I recently started writing this story on another board but it got moderated, so I decided to try it here! Seeing as other Pokemon story(ies) are popular here, I think it will go over pretty well. I hope everyone enjoys it!
Episode 1: The First Episode <i>My name is Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town. Today, I turn 10 years old which means I’m finally old enough to both enter the 5th grade and travel the world by myself. My dream is to be the strongest Pokemon trainer the world has ever seen! What will be my first Pokemon? I think I’ll choose… Bulbasaur! It’s a grass type making it strong against water and…fire types! Or maybe I’ll choose Squirtle! He’s a turtle that can swim! But what about Charmander? It’s like a dragon! Except a lot weaker. Hmm…such a tough choice. Who am I going to-</i> Ash’s Mom: Wake up it’s time to go get your first Pokemon so you can finally leave home! YAY!!! Ash: Ugh what time is it? Ash’s Mom: Almost noon! You’d better hurry up or Gary will take the last good Pokemon and you’ll get stuck with some kind of rat! Ash: Noon!? I need to hurry up! Ash’s Mom: I want to come see you get your Pokemon I’m so proud of you! Ash: What about dad? Is he coming? Ash’s Mom: Your dad has mysteriously vanished due to unknown causes. Ash: Ok. *10 minutes later outside Professor Oak’s Lab* Gary: I GOT A POKEMON!!! Cheerleaders: Gary, Gary, he’s our man. He’s gonna catch a Nidoran! Ash: What Pokemon did you get Gary? Gary: I got an Eevee! Ash: I didn’t know that was one of the choices. Gary: It’s not but since Professor Oak’s my grandpa he gives me money and rare Pokemon! Ash: Favoritism. *Inside Professor Oak’s Lab* Professor Oak: Ah! A new trainer! Ash: Professor Oak I’ve known you since I was 2. Professor Oak: Are you a boy or a girl? Ash: …boy. Professor Oak: Is your name Red or Blue? Ash: My name’s Ash. Professor Oak: Well hello Ash! Welcome to the world of Pokemon- Ash: Can I just get my starter already? Professor Oak: Well you slept in pretty late so all the good ones are gone. Ash: There has to be some Pokemon I can use! Professor Oak: Take this Pikachu. It’s an electric rat. It’s really “good.” Ash: Why was that good in quotation marks? Professor Oak: What are you talking about? Ash: I GOT A POKEMON!!! Professor Oak: You really didn’t have to shout that loudly. Ash sends out Pikachu! Pikachu: Pikachu. Ash: Is that another language? What’s it saying? Professor Oak: Pikachu. Pikachu: Pikachu. Ash: Pikachu? Pikachu: Pikachu. Professor Oak: Pikachu. Ash: Is that all it says? Professor Oak: Pokemon only say their names. Ash: So did the people who named the Pokemon make their names whatever they say or did they give them their names and then they started saying them? Professor Oak: I’m…not sure. Ash: Aren’t you supposed to be a Pokemon scientist? Professor Oak: I just study interactions between Pokemon and people. Ash: Like what? Professor Oak: Like the mass production of video games based on the life of a trainer. Ash: That sounds fun. Professor Oak: Ooh one more thing! Professor Oak pulls out a square red thingy. Professor Oak: This is a Pokedex! It’s a hand-held Pokemon encyclopedia. It knows everything about every Pokemon known to man except for the 500 or so that no one in Kanto knows about even though they’re very common in nearby regions. Ash: Really? That sounds great! Professor Oak: Well at least hypothetically. I’m still working on its programming so there might be a few small errors still… Ash: Well I know absolutely nothing about Pokemon despite living in a world full of them for 10 years, so it should come in handy! Ash opens the Pokedex Pokedex: Hello. Welcome to the world of Pokemon. My name is insert name here and I will be- Professor Oak: Whoopsie, forgot to fix that. Professor Oak pushes a few buttons quickly and hands it back to Ash. Pokedex: Hello. Welcome to the world of Pokemon. My name is Dexter and I will be your portable encyclopedia. Ash: Hi Dexter. Dexter: Hello, noob. Ash: He doesn’t seem very polite. Professor Oak: I thought I’d make him an exciting travel buddy. *Outside Professor Oak’s Lab* Ash’s Mom: Oh Ash I’m so proud of you! And happy that you’re leaving after 10 long years. Ash: I’ll go become the champion and be back in a couple weeks. Ash’s Mom: Please take a little longer than that. I packed you a backpack with everything you’ll need. Ash: Cool! What kind of snacks did you pack? Ash’s Mom: Whoops knew I forgot something. Ash: Great so now I have no food. Ash’s Mom: You can eat mushrooms! To Be Continued…

@Guitar: if you want to animate it go right ahead! I think this story would be better as a video series but I know nothing of that sort of thing.

Episode 2: The Adventure Continues
*The Field Outside Pallet Town* Ash: Wow I’ve never been this far from home before! Dexter: Really? How old are you, 10? Ash: Yup! There’s a rustling in the grass. A Pidgey appears! Ash: Hey look, a Pokemon! GO PIKACHU! Pikachu doesn’t move. Ash: Fine I’ll catch it myself! Dexter, what Pokemon is that? Dexter: That is…a bird! Ash: Doesn’t it have a name? Dexter: Don’t ask me, Professor Oak never finished programming me. Pidgey: Pidgey! Dexter: Pidgey, the bird-like Pokemon. Ash: You’re really not very helpful. Come here Pidgey! Ash runs towards the Pidgey and gets hit with a Sand Attack! Pidgey flies away. Ash: Oh no, my accuracy fell! Dexter: Loser, you couldn’t even catch a Pidgey! Ash: I’ll catch the next Pokemon! A Rattata runs up to Ash’s backpack that’s on the ground and starts searching inside it. Ash: Hey look, another Pokemon! This is so exciting! Who’s that Pokemon Dexter? Dexter: Wait…gimme a minute…I think I know this…Raterata? Ratapatap? Paparata? Ratatouille? Ratscallion? Rattata: Rattata! Dexter: Rattata, the rat-like Pokemon. Ash: *sigh* Come here you Rattata! Rattata runs away. Ash: Almost had it! Dexter: No you didn’t. There’s a rustling in the grass again! Ash: Hey look, another bird! What’s that Pokemon??? Dexter: That is…drumroll please brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rr another Pidgey! Ash: It doesn’t look like another Pidgey. Dexter: Trust me. Ash: Cool, I’ll throw a rock at it to make it really happy so it’ll come hop in my Pokeball. Dexter: Good idea. Ash: Gooooo rock!! It hits the bird on the head. Spearow: SPEAROW!? Dexter: Spearow, the Pidgey-like Pokemon. Ash: Er…run!! Dexter: I don’t have legs! You better carry me! I DON’T WANT TO GET EATEN!!! Ash grabs Pikachu and Dexter and runs!!! To Be Continued…

Episode 3: The Adventure Continues to Continue
Previously… Ash was running from a Spearow! This time… Ash is running from a FLOCK OF SPEAROWS!!! Ash: That’s a lot of Spearows! Dexter: QUIT TURNING AROUND TO LOOK AND KEEP RUNNING!!! Pikachu: Pikachu! Ash: How am I supposed to tell what you’re thinking when all you do is say your name? Pikachu: Pikachu. Ash keeps running until he falls into the river. Dexter: Ack I’m allergic to water! It’s bad for my circuitry! Ash: That’s ok, you were useless anyway. Ash sees a bicycle and ignores the girl standing nearby. Ash: Ooh a bike! Just what I need! Girl: That’s MY bike! If you take my bike I’m going to follow you around for the rest of your life until you pay me back. Ash: Eh, I’m sure I can lose you in a bug-infested forest somewhere. Ash rides off on the stolen bicycle, still fleeing the angry Spearows *On the Road to Viridian City* Ash: Oh no, I just drove into a puddle and fell of my bike! Dexter: FAIL! The Spearows are moving in on Ash but Pikachu comes to the rescue using a very powerful Thunderbolt and KO’ing all Spearows at once. Ash: Why couldn’t you have done that an hour ago? Pikachu: Pikachu. Ash: I love you Pikachu! Pikachu: Pikachu. Ash: I assume that means you love me too. Dexter: Just get back on the bike already!! To Be Continued…
